Alumni Notes 1980 Benjamin LeFever graduated from The Citadel in 1985 with a BA in history and Campbell University in 1988 with a law degree. He is a self-employed attorney in Fayetteville and has an 18 year old daughter, Lisa, who is a freshman at UNC majoring in journalism and an 11 year old daughter, Eva.
1995 Elaine Bradbury Passman and her husband, Corey, have a two year old daughter, Katie. Elaine was accepted to Sewanee (The University of the South) during her junior year at O’Neal and spent her senior year in France. She received a degree in economics. She was in corporate banking and finance for ten years and now stays home with Katie. Elaine met Corey at Sewanee and they moved to Lynchburg, VA two years ago when Corey joined a urology practice after being at the University of Alabama Birmingham for medical school and his residency and at Wake Forest for his fellowship.
1983 Elizabeth Granger Tait lives in Wilmington with her husband, Burt, and their six year old daughter, Cameron, who is a first grader at Cape Fear Academy. Elizabeth graduated from NCSU with a BS in business management and Burt graduated from Hampden Sydney College with a BA in economics. Burt is a general contractor and Elizabeth is a stay at home mom for Cameron. They met while working for a commercial real estate firm in Raleigh. 1985 Quinten Van Camp lives in Tasmania, Australia with her husband Willem Van Den Broek and their two and an half year old daughter, Bailey. She and her husband own a restaurant/bar. Quinten attended UNCW after O’Neal and transferred to Springfield College in Massachusetts where she earned a degree in psychology. She worked in mental health until she and her sister, Ashley, opened Ashten’s Restaurant in Southern Pines in 1997. Quinten and Willem met in Aspen, Colorado where he was visiting his sister and she was managing a restaurant at The St. Regis. Quinten is now a dual citizen of Australia and the United States. She and Willem hope to move back to the US in the future.
1999 Connie Fleming Wright and her husband, Andrew, had a baby girl on September 30th. They named her Sidney Fleming Wright. She weighed in at 7lbs. 15oz. and was 20 inches long. Mom, dad and baby are getting to know each other and O’Neal wishes them well!
2000 Shelley Rainey Keith lives in Winterville with her husband Taylor and Taylor’s son Terry (4) and their daughter, Rainey Grace (2). She was a Kindergarten teacher but now is a stay-athome mom. Taylor works for the NCDOT and owns a small real estate company.
1990 Chris Kruse is married to Ashley and they live in Rye, NH. He is the northeast territory sales manager for NCR Corporation. He graduated from Elon University in 1995 with a bachelor of arts degree. Chris’ wife, Ashley, graduated from Kent Denver School in 1999 and Vanderbilt University in 1999. They had a baby girl, Campbell Elizabeth, on July 30th. We wish the new family well!!
