The Now house is a place that balances both the natural and manmade environments to form a sanctuary that releases you from the stresses of everyday life. A sanctuary that aims to slow both pace and time and allow you to reflect on events; past, present and future.

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

AS A DESIGN STUDENT I HAVE LEARNED MANY THINGS WHILE STUDYING. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I’VE TAKEN AWAY IS THAT CHANGE IS CONSTANT BUT QUALITY REMAINS QUALITY. I PRIDE MYSELF IN ACHIEVING RESULTS THAT REFLECT THE OCCASION AND GIVEN SCENARIOS AND AS SUCH FUNCTION MORE EFFICIENTLY IN FAST PACED ENVIRONMENTS. CREATIVELY I AM INTERESTED IN THE VISUAL COMMUNICATION OF ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS. I FIND THAT SELLING AN EXPERIENCE OF A PROJECT, OR EVEN A WORKPLACE, IS THE KEY DRIVER TO SUCCESS.

Cinema is experienced as a whole, not through the quality of a single event. Movement is used to introduce an individual to different experiences and thus movement is key. 8 7 4 3

The essence of this project was creating an architectural experience through the movement of the building. The way in which an individual meanders through each space produces a series of moments allowing one to relax and relate. The building scheme, set apart from the Surfers Paradise district introduces a gateway in which one element relates to the city grid, while the other relates to river, creating a building perfectly reflecting both city and residential experiences.

The layering of the presentation further enhances the scheme of the building layout. Materiality of the design consisted of an almost art like standard, calling for a layered render to be constructed. The nature of the Cinema complex is to provide an experiential quality to parts of the Gold Coast which is currently underused. The building itself is to become a beacon of monumental standards casing the grandeur which can be accomplished in this age.

The pomona community centre focuses on engaging a younger generation to peak interest in the spaces, which will then be used by their generation and the next. Once participated, activities will blend together seamlessly to create a place where experiences can be relatable across all age groups.

The idea of allowing a space to protrude into another allows two activities to transition into the same space. This then allows the user of each space the chance to participate in each activity. These connections and flexible spaces, establishes and maintains a new and refreshed experience. Colour palate and material range of the design is to be kept neutral with concrete, timber and glass being the primary material sources. Vegetation will be used to generate a human scaled element that contrasts the harshness of the architecture. The playground level is to be full of vibrant colours that removes it from the spaces below. They are to offer a experiential difference between the spaces and form another world.

It is clear that in todays society an instrumental need for a greener future is envisioned. It is with great care that we proceed into the future curbing our habit for destruction and introducing a greener, cleaner existence. The Hyderabad Multi Residential project was one such project. It called for a new means of thinking, effectively allowing the city to be taken over by stages of growth. Each stage being progressively more environmentally effective allows the entire city to become accustomed, changing minds years at a time. The focus on a walkable city aroused this idea of multi-modal buildings which creates a cell in an even larger organism. This allows an individual to stay within walking distance from everything that is needed for modern day surviving thus creating a world where transport isn’t necessarily required. The Focus of this project was in 50 years starting with cyber city as the main node. The presentation effectively renders the layering needs of the building itself and its fabric. The need for both earth and humanity to co-exist in harmony without major disruption. Layering of both presentation and building function allows the design and presentation to become a combined element.

The framework for democracy in Australia is firmly set in place to for a successful governmental body. The issues surrounding the idea of democracy is the lack of education within the wider community. This in turn affects the means of communication the public which has primarily been done through the media. In effect, the media has become the mediator between governmental and public domains. This mediator relationship has then been used to inform the public on how the governmental body has been running and how to vote accordingly. Level 4

Negativity surrounds the ideal of Democracy in Australia because these are the messages that we as the public are getting from the media. For democracy to become a successful and further well used endeavour within Australia we as the public need to educate ourselves. This needs to start at a young age to remove the idea of negativity. The Keystone Project should form the connection between the younger generations and the idea of policy. The aim of the project is to generate a conversation in the wider Brisbane regions to educate the masses. For a democratic system to function a constant dedication is required from both parties; Public and Govenment. This relationship enforces the importance and the equality of decisions being made and turned into policies. As the public of a democracy you are required to educate yourself, which then inturn can create positive desicions and outcomes.
