OVER THE MANY YEARS OF HOSTING WEDDINGS, WE’VE LEARNT ALONG THE WAY IT’S IMPORTANT TO HAVE CLEAR TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN PLACE. WE’VE ALWAYS TRIED TO BE FLEXIBLE, FAIR AND OFFER CHOICE FOR YOUR WEDDING PLANNING.
CONDITIONS PUT IN PLACE ARE THERE TO ENSURE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY THAT RUNS SMOOTHLY.

IF CHAIR DRESSING IS WANTED, YOU AGREE TO USE J’S PERFECTIONS WEDDINGS AND OCCASIONS. ALTERNATIVELY, IF VENUE STYLING IS BEING PROVIDED BY CHIC WEDDINGS & EVENTS, THEN CHAIR DRESSING CAN BE SUPPLIED BY THEM AS WELL.
Over the years we’ve worked with many different stylists. As our chairs are only compatible with fitted covers and styles, we found many inconsistencies with the quality of service offered and the work failing to be completed in the allocated time. Quality and timing are key for you to have a wonderful dining area, ready for photographs and delighted guests.
J’s Wedding Perfections and Occasions, along with Chic, are designated exclusive suppliers of chair styling at the barn. This was based on long-standing working relationships, attention to detail and adherence to timings.
The relationship is transparent, there’s no commissions or contract. We only insist they deliver a high-quality standard of finish for each and every one of your weddings.
We know there are many wonderful suppliers offering this service. However, we don’t permit additional chair stylists so there’s no confusion about our policy.
WE’D LIKE TO FIT OUR OWN CHAIR STYLING?
You’re most welcome to fit your own styling.
We recommend an early start to complete this in time. Any friends or family will speed this up, allowing time to relax and prepare before the wedding.
We also recommend chair decorations are steamed/ironed and put on hangers before fitting – this will reduce any creases.
Unfortunately this is not something we can assist with, given the time it takes.
DANCE FLOORS FITTING OVER THE DANCE FLOOR IN THE NEW BARN (EG LED FLOORS) MUST BE SUPPLIED BY APOLLO FUNK ENTERTAINMENT.
WHY?
We’ve worked with Apollo Funk Entertainment for many years and their team have the experience and care to look after our dance floor and prevent unnecessary damage.
Limiting who can supply additional floors ensures the floor isn’t damaged and your supplied a high quality floor for your wedding.
VENUE POLICY 10
SMOKE OR HAZE MACHINES (INCLUDING DRY ICE) ARE NOT PERMITTED WITHIN THE BUILDINGS.
In our history, all different types of hazes have been known to set off the fire alarm system. The last thing we want, is for your wedding to be interrupted by a full evacuation of the building because a haze machine has set off the fire alarms.
VENUE POLICY 10
FIREWORKS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON SITE BECAUSE OF THE HARM THEY CAUSE THE LOCAL ENVIRONMENT.
WHY?
The danger to livestock in neighbouring fields, and the potential risk to the barns and neighbouring properties, means fireworks are not permitted.
You’re permitted to bring Sparklers, however we require you to provide lighters.
We recommend purchasing long sparklers. They are safer and last longer for your group/individual photos.
VENUE POLICY 10
WE CANNOT PERMIT ANY SKY LANTERNS OR BALLOON RELEASES.
WHY?
They’re a risk to the environment, the barns and local livestock.
VENUE POLICIES 18
COLOURED SMOKE PHOTOGRAPHS (SMOKE GRENADES) ARE TO BE ARRANGED DIRECTLY WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER, HOWEVER WE MUST BE NOTIFIED IN YOUR WDS. THEY ARE USED AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Intoxicated guests or any guests under age 18 are not permitted to use smoke grenades. Enola Gaye Smoke Grenades are the preferred brand used by photographers in our experience. Used/discarded grenades must not be left in the grounds and must be taken back to the team so they can be disposed of correctly.
With the rise in popularity of smoke grenade pictures, it’s become necessary to create a policy around their use on site.
We recommend they’re only used in open spaces in the grounds.
ALL FLAME/LIT/WAX CANDLES MUST BE CONTAINED
ALL LIT CANDLES WILL BE EXTINGUISHED AT THE END OF SERVICE BEFORE THE EVENING RECEPTION.
WE CANNOT PERMIT LIT CANDLES IN METAL LANTERNS AROUND THE BARN OR AISLE.
You’re welcome to have candles. Dinner and church style candles in candelabras or holders will drip wax, damaging the table linens. They’re also easily knocked over, creating a potential fire risk. We therefore insist any such candles are within containers or LED alternatives used.
Tealights must also be inside a container (such as a votive/holder) as wax spills are inevitable and also pose a burning risk.
For safety reasons, all lit candles are extinguished after service when the tables are unattended and be- fore the evening reception begins. You’re welcome to provide LED alternatives which we’ll switch over for you.
We cannot allow flame candles inside metal lanterns around the barn and aisle. Metal lanterns with real candles often become very hot to the touch and pose a risk to guests – additionally the lanterns can be knocked spilling wax and damaging the barn.
BALLS (GAMES) ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE GROUNDS
WHY?
Footballs, bat and ball pose a risk to guests, buildings and gardens.
Mini golf, coconut shy with small balls are permitted in lawned areas with hedges.
