Arundel Castle

Wed 24th The story of Arundel begins in 1067 and continues to the present day. Many of the original features such as the Norman Keep, medieval Gatehouse and Barbican survive. Between the 1870's and 1890's the house was almost completely rebuilt. The magnificent architecture in Gothic style is considered to be one of the great works of Victorian England. May Banbury & Broughton Castle - North Oxfordshire

We start the day with free time in Banbury before an afternoon visit to Broughton Castle, the family home of the 21st Lord & Lady Sale. Broughton is a moated and fortified manor house set in parkland and built in the rich local Hornton Ironstone, it was selected by Simon Jenkins as one of only twenty to be awarded five stars in his book England's Thousand Best Houses. The core of the house was built in 1306 and the gatehouse in the early 15th century, but most of what you see today dates from the 1550's. The Ladies Garden was created in the 1890's by Lady Algernon Gordon-Lennox when she lived at Broughton. Saffron Walden & Audley End House & Gardens

We make a short visit to Saffron Walden, before we make our way to Audley End House and Gardens. The impressive house that can be seen today is only about a third the size of the vast mansion created in about 1605–14 by the 1st Earl of Suffolk. It retains much of its original character and contains fine Robert Adam and Jacobean revival interiors. The gardens and landscape, shaped by various owners to complement the house, reflect many changes in English garden fashion. Marvel at the sumptuous splendour enjoyed by royalty and aristocracy in one of England's grandest country houses, Wander round the vast gardens and parkland, discover the walled garden organic Kitchen Garden and don't forget to visit the Stable Block and the horses. Canterbury Canterbury is home to three UNESCO World Heritage SitesThe Cathedral is one of the most important historical sites in the world, with sections dating back to the 11th century, a mixture of Romanesque and Anglo-Gothic architecture. Historic Lincoln

Lincoln is home to many stunning sights, including the Cathedral, the most iconic building in the city. Built in 1072 it is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in all of Europe. Day 1 We travel to the Suncliff hotel in Bournemouth and enjoy a welcome tea or coffee on in the Lounge Bar on arrival whilst your luggage is delivered to your room. From 5.30pm -6.30pm Welcome Aboard- manager Cocktail party. From 6.30 dinner will be served in the restaurant according to your allocated dining times. Special Menu choice (optional Char-Grilled Chicken served with Spanish Rice & Paprika Cream Sauce. 8.30 – 10.30 p.m. Entertainment Day 2 Tuesday today our port of call is Italy10.30am collect your Quiz sheets from reception and get thinking. Prize for the winner. At 3.30pm Eyes down for a full house with an afternoon of BINGO. From 6.30 Traditional dinner is served special menu choice (Optional Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni. Followed by Entertainment. Day 3 Today our port of call is France. Don’t forget to collect your quiz from reception Dinner this evening features the French classic Beef Bourguignon (optional) Followed by Entertainment. Day 4 Our final port of call is Greece don’t forget your quiz! Please make sure it is handed in by midday. Winners will be announced this evening. From 2pm to 4pm afternoon Tea and Cake will be served. This evening’s local speciality is Greek Style Lamb Stew (optional) followed by Entertainment. FANCY DRESS IS MORE THAN WELCOME ON ALL EVENINGS. Day 1 We set off with comfort stops en route for our wonderful weekend break to Paignton. Arriving at the Palace Hotel late afternoon to check in and relax. Day 2 A lovely trip to Totnes, a quaint postcard-pretty historic market town which is truly a sight to behold. With a range of small independent shops, plenty of museums and galleries to stunning countryside, fascinating historical buildings and amazing views set in the shadows of the impressive Totnes Castle. Day 3 A free day to explore this traditional British seaside town, Paignton has it all! A fishing port, traditional seaside attractions, a lovely pier, a theatre, and promenade, to name but a few amazing attractions. What’s not to love? Day 4 Sadly, it is time to bid a fond farewell to Paignton as we make our way home with comfort stops en-route.
