New grocery store brings fresh variety to area On Thursday, May 24, Lidl celebrated the grand opening of its Florence store located at 2205 W. Palmetto Street. A ribbon cutting ceremony took place at 7:45 a.m. where store manager Casey Humber cut the ribbon, thus officially opening the store. Lidl gave a prize to their first customer who had been waiting outside the store since 1 a.m. Following the ribbon cutting the newly built Lidl store opened its doors at 8 a.m with a line of customers that spanned the length of the building. Casey Humber, store manager, said, “We look forward to being able to bring the people of Florence high quality, fresh food at low prices through Lidl. We are excited to be here and look forward to being an important part in this community.” City council member George Jebaily was present at the grand opening. He spoke highly of the Florence area and thanked Lidl for bringing their new store to the people of this community. John M. Jebaily, residential and commercial broker, was also present. John played an integral role in bringing Lidl to the area which took over a year to get finalized. Lidl has many unique products. They sell meat that is exclusively

They have a selection of 120 wines that have collectively received over 200 awards. Lidl has chocolate from different countries and openly displays the information as to where exactly the chocolate was grown. The fish at Lidl is responsibly farmed or certified sustainable.
