A Commemorative First Poppy was presented to Comrade Russell Thompson (101 yr old WWII Veteran) by Her Worship, Mayor Smith-Gatcke in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building in Lansdowne on Friday October 30 at 11:00am. Also present is Councillor Gordon Ohlke. This event marks the beginning of the annual Poppy campaign. The Poppy which was presented in an engraved lexan frame was an original drawing by TLTI Grade 12 student Nellwyn Cowan. Photo by K.Goodman
