Comic Con.

It took us a while to get issue 2 of The Movie Guyde made, but we did it. It's been a tough journey to balance a YouTube channel, TikTok, social media, my personal life and the making of this magazine, but I think I found a balance. These past few months have been quite the experience and not always in a good way. I went through a personal tragedy, I tried to pick everything back up, I had to raise funds for Comic Con Cape Town and I got to go to the event. At one point I didn't think I could make it, and I'm not just talking about making it to Comic Con But thank God, I persevered and I'm back in the editors seat to bring you a new edition of Namibia's only pop culture publication I'm excited to share this issues stories, as we have some wonderful people that we got to talk to And there's even a small surprise in the end.

FEATURED MOVIE: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3

What a beautiful and emotional conclussion to one of the MCU's most awesome ragtag group of misfits.

GOTG Vol 3 is almost the perfect conclussion to what many now consider the best trilogy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in many ways I agree with them. The GOTG franchise opened the door to a different side of the MCU, and not just thatit gave us some of the most endearing characters It's hard to pick a favourite guardian. Personally I'm torn between Rocket, Groot and Star Lord But Rocket definitely is the star of the third movie in the franchise. I don't want to spoil this movie for anyone, because I want everyone to go support it It's Marvel at its best.

I went in expecting something good, but I came out with a new found love and appreciation for these characters I feel like this movie was nearly perfect. The story was wonderful, the characters were fantastic, the soundtrack once again blew my mind, and the villain... Well, the High Evolutionary is the most vile and despicable character in Marvel history. You can't help but to love hating him. If you do decide to go watch this movie, then prepare yourself for an emotional rollercoaster The film literally left people sobbing

I can't think of a better send-off for these characters I feel like the Guardians have the best story-arch of all the MCU characters. This is a true James Gunn movie, as we can see his full vision. Remember when Marvel fired him? I think they're glad they brought him back No producer, writer or director understands these characters better than him

If this was a review then I would've give this movie 5 out of 5 stars Just go see it!

Rocket was definitely the stand out character in the movie, as most focus is on young Rocket I'm not mad about that, in fact I think it's about time the character got more recognition He is definitely the emotional core of the film

RENFIELD

RATING:

Renfield is a fun take on the horror-comedy genre. Nicolas Hoult's timid acting and Nicolas Cage's overacting perfectly complements each other. Could it have been better? Probably, but it was still a fun gory mess The premise was interesting but the execution missed the mark every now and then. It's definitely entertaining and I'm probably going to re-watch it again in a few years

DUNGEONS&DRAGONS: HONORAMONGTHIEVES

RATING:

How is this movie this good? I seriously thought they wouldn't be able to pull it off The casts chemistry is awesome The plot might be simple, but the way it's laid out makes this movie so much fun. It's a combination of fantasy, comedy and a whole lot of heart I can see myself re-watching this movie again and again I had so much fun It's a perfect film for a great movie night at home

Now you might be thinking, there can't be more But there is He is also a playwright. He wrote his first play called A Thousand Wished back in 2015

He is an inspiration to all in the entertainment industry and this is his story. From a young boy on a farm in Namibia, to being one of the greatest voices in local cinema and TV today

From a boy on the farm, to pioneer in entertainment

Who Michael Pulse?

I was born in a small village 30km outside of Okakarara. This is where I fell inlove with music as from the age of 4 years old I pursuit my love for the arts and attended the College of the arts where I studied African Performing Arts - with a major in Music Theory I start professionaly with Theatre, the following year I dropped my Debut Album and in 2017 I won Best Rnb at the Namas. Following that I was head writer for The Third Will for about 2 years After that I wrote and coproducedThe White Line

How does music and filmmaking influence each other in your creative process?

They both have a time of their own. If I am doing film, I really don't focus on music and visa versa However, I have been able to create a space where they mutually exist and that was when I did the music scoring for films like or Kapana, while also writing I am a writer before anything else, creatively the process the same form me

What inspires you as an artist and how do you channel that inspiration into your work?

Two things I use to inspire me, one - I like to write about my personal experiences, whether it is about family, friends or things that I have experienced And secondly, I sometimes just like watching people - observing their everyday lives. Surprisingly it can inspire you to look at life and people from a different perspective.

Can you walk us through your experience of winning the NAMA award for Best RnB Album in 2017? How did you feel and what did it mean to you?

I was sitting next to my Brother who drove 4-hours after work to Swakopmund. He heard my name and nudged me, saying, " I think they called your name" That's how not-ready I was to win I did not even have a speech ready. I have been into music longer than I have been a commercial artist, so most people got to know my name that year and that was the acknowledgment I needed that a dream worked on, can become true.

What movie are you excited for?

Disney's Elemental

How does awards affect your work?

Every accolade I have received has been a culmination of hard work, failure, re-working my strategy and really trying to grow myself I tell myself, "You are only as good as your last project "

How does film and music influence you?

RnB has been my foundation for music but now that I am grown I've found my own sound As for film, I am a nerd - so anything Sci-fi, fantasy, anime - genre's allow me to think out the box when ever I come up with an idea for a script

Can we expect from you this year?

I'm working on 3 projects A film I wrote and directed, MuKurob.. An opera, Chief Hijangua, which will be staged in Berlin, Germany. And I'm working on my third album called, Becoming - Michael Pulse

While she has remained relatively silent in her opposition of the racist government in her country, the movement to make the language of Afrikaans the official language in her school leads her to protest in the streets with her fellow students. Her anti-government views become even more intense when her favorite teacher (Whoopi Goldberg) is arrested for protesting

A Dry White Season

Teacher Ben du Toit (Donald Sutherland) mostly ignores the problems of apartheid in South Africa until he discovers that the son of a gardener (Winston Ntshona) at his school has been killed by corrupt policeman Stolz (Jürgen Prochnow) Du Toit persuades human rights attorney Ian McKenzie (Marlon Brando) to try the long-shot case against Stolz. During the trial, Du Toit's transformation into an advocate for justice is so absolute that it distances him from his family.
