Technology may have superseded large parts of marketing. However, the faithful signboard still remains an integral part of marketing a property and is likely to avoid being banished by the technological takeover.

Signboards serve a valuable purpose, although some argue that signboards are purely for the benefit of the agent – but just remember; you can’t sell a secret and, if signboards are used correctly, they are a brilliant tool that can help you reach more buyers.

Signboards serve as a 24/7 billboard for your home and can work in your favour in a number of ways.

Placement

It’s important that a signboard is strategically and visibly placed on the property boundary, while also complementing your home from the street. When placed correctly, it will suitably standout to house-hunters travelling through your area.

However, it also targets those who love your neighbourhood but aren’t actively searching to buy a property – the attraction of a particular house in a certain neighbourhood can be a big draw card and has the ability to trigger a call-to-action.

By having signboards outside your home, it confirms what potential buyers have seen online or in real estate office windows. A large portion of buyers are inclined to visit an area before they commit to an open home.

It also acts as an added convenience for buyers – it saves them driving up and down the road to find your home. If you live on a street corner, a signboard should be placed on the corner of the street or on both streets.
