Help Aussie Animals!

Pet of the Month

The animals in Australia are suffering so terribly from the dreadful bushfires and Laura at No.3 Royston is calling for local knitters, crochet makers and sewers to make pouches for joeys, nests for birds, wraps for bats and more.

Luna currently have a number of friendly small animals that are looking for new homes. There are a number of guinea pigs, rabbits and degus, that are friendly and happy to be handled. Some are in bonded pairs and some would be happy to go to their new homes individually.

The Animal Rescue Collective Craft Guild in Australia is coordinating a worldwide campaign for crafters to get involved and they have lots of approved patterns.

obesity in your pets More frequently encountered in humans, obesity is also encountered in pets. It’s a condition in which the body contains too much fat due to an excess of food, or lack of proper exercise or (much less commonly) a metabolic condition such as hypothyroidism. Many owners feel feeding their pet is a way to show their love for them, but truly an overweight pet is predisposed to die earlier, as they could have diabetes, osteoarthritis and other inflammatory conditions or even cancer.
