Their neighbour, local baker and Flaubert expert Martin becomes entranced by Gemma’s sensuous beauty and sets out to be her mentor in these new surroundings.

This hard hitting drama tells the story of boxer Billy Hope (Gyllenhaal) who seems to have everything and is at the top of his career. Tick Willis (Whitaker) a retired fighter, helps Hope get back to the top of his game and helps him as he struggles with redemption. With a superb cast this drama will leave you fighting along with them both.

Set in the 1960’s CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Cavill) unwillingly teams up with KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Hammer) investigating a mysterious criminal organisation which is working to proliferate from nuclear weapons. Cavill and Hammer’s double act will have you laughing and on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Saturday 24th October at 7.30pm Dir: Judd Apatow | USA | 2015 | 125 mins Cast | Amy Schumer, Bill Hader Comedy actress and writer of Trainwreck, Amy Schumer, gives another performance which will have spectators in fits of hysterics. It tells the story of a commitment phobic career woman Amy (Schumer) who thinks monogamy would never be possible but she may soon have to face her fear as she starts to fall for the subject of an article she is writing, Aaron Conners (Hader), and starts to change her view on relationships. This will have you laughing from start to finish.

Friday 30th October at 7.30pm Saturday 31st October at 7.30pm Dir: Brian Helgeland | USA | 2015 | 131 mins Cast | Tom Hardy Tom Hardy stars as both Ronnie and Reggie Kray in this crime drama set in the East End of London in the 1960’s. The film tells the story of the Kray twins’ rise to power in organised crime and how Reggie seeks to control the psychotic tendencies of his twin Ronnie. With Actor Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception) playing both roles you will be entranced as he plays the twins with a sinister and frightening ease.

We continue with the exquisite Gemma Bovery and then one of the best performances by a male lead you will see for sometime in Southpaw. The much talked about Man from U.N.C.L.E and Meryl Streep as you have never seen her before in Ricki and the Flash continue the entertainment, with the hilarious Trainwreck and the amazing Tom Hardy finishing things off in Legend, completing a dazzling schedule for all tastes.

The Royston Picture Palace Story

An initiative emerged in 2009 to re-introduce cinema to Royston. Royston Town Council refurbished the building whilst the town’s business, via Royston First, provided the cinema equipment.

Of course, introducing 21st century technology into a Victorian building was no mean feat, but in the summer of 2013 the Royston Picture Palace opened its doors to much acclaim.

The Royston Picture Palace is run by volunteers and performances take place on Friday and Saturday evenings, and occasional Saturday matinees, providing excellent value, quality entertainment for local people, just a few weeks after main release dates.
