The Department of Education's (DepED) 's Order No. 49, a set of rules and policies released that promote a sense of professionalism while educating, is only a restatement of the Code of Conduct for Filipino civilians, including teachers, DepEd Spokesperson Atty. Michael Poa remarked.

In a press conference held in November, Poa stated that the DepEd Order seeks to depoliticize and promote professionalism within the ranks. "Sa aming pananaw, there is no infringement of any basic rights such as freedom of expression, freedom of speech, specifically with telling them not to go to politicians para po maiparating 'yung kanilang concerns, " he added.

Furthermore, DO 49 states that employees should refrain from requesting or obtaining third-party support or endorsement in the hiring, transfer, promotion, removal, or any other personnel movement, as well as raising issues and concerns about primary education through formal and appropriate DepEd channels, either directly to the Office of the Secretary or through the concerned Assistant Secretary or Undersecretary. However, it brought up many concerns among multiple groups, including House Deputy Minority Leader France Castro of the ACT party list, who said that it was "tantamount to violating the freedom of speech of teachers and school personnel. " Meanwhile, the Republic Act 6713/Code of Conduct Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees and the Republic Act 7836/ The Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994 are set up to help teachers understand how to conduct themselves.

According to Poa, using social media for communicating is allowed and isn't considered "outside of the school setting" just as long as school-related matters are being discussed. "There has to be a line between the teacher and the learner, but we're not discouraging the use of social media for classroom instruction, and that's why the word or phrase 'outside the school setting' must be emphasized, " he added.

Poa pointed out that DepEd is simply "reminding" teachers not to "cross the line" or have "biases" between their students. He further added that there is no need for teachers to unfollow/unfriend their students just yet.

The most recent Transportation Code in the City of Bauan, released by the Bauan Municipal Government, significantly impacted many commuters, particularly students.

According to the Bauan Municipal Facebook page, the ordinance will be Ordinance No. 22-08-0326, which went into effect on November 1, 2022.

In addition, the Transportation Code caused several students to travel long distances to access school, which may increase their expenses or limit their availability for other activities. Under this ordinance, passengers who wish to ride the tricycle alone must pay three times the minimum fare. This is unfortunate because tricycles have suddenly become expensive, and passengers must wait to avoid paying three times the price. Moreover, people traveling in a group must also pay three times the minimum fare if they cannot occupy all empty seats in the tricycle. Furthermore, netizens strongly objected to the law that the municipality abolished. Now that the country's inflation rate is rising, everything is becoming more expensive, including the fare. As such, the Bauan municipality has decided to limit the fare that tricycle drivers can charge their passengers.

The said order also aided some people, such as those who are impatient and do not want to wait, but some people did not find this order helpful, particularly students. They were affected by the increase in the fare, making it hard for them daily.
