Sky High Spa Melbourne’s newest luxury spa destination, the Ritz-Carlton Spa, sits 64 floors above the city, offering relaxation with a side of stunning views, says Nadine Dilong.

here aren’t many luxury hotels around the world with a more recognisable name than the Ritz-Carlton. Australia’s first RitzCarlton in Sydney’s illustrious Double Bay changed owners in the early 2000s, and it took almost 20 years for it to return to Aussie shores with the Ritz-Carlton Perth opening in 2019. This year, in 2023, Ritz-Carlton Melbourne followed, creating a true oasis in the clouds with its 80-storey building and 360 degree views over the Victorian capital and beyond. Situated on the 64th floor is the Ritz-Carlton Spa, a tranquil haven offering traditional spa treatments using spa brands ESPA and Salus Body. The spa has also created its own signature oil, which is used in their signature massage and can be purchased. floor, reminiscent of Keith Harring’s famous Waterwall at the National Gallery of Victoria. The reception area of the spa showcases stunning marble islands and products displayed on individual floating shelves. I get served a herbal tea and a cold, fragrant towel to wash my hands before filling out my client information form. My therapist Isabella greets me and guides me towards the treatment room, whose floor-to-ceiling windows not only let in an abundance of light, but also let me enjoy a stunning view over Melbourne as we discuss my massage preferences. My treatment for today is the spa’s ‘Nourish Glow’, a 60-minute body scrub and massage, including the scalp.
