t was about this time last year when most of us downloaded TikTok, and we haven’t been the same since. The video-sharing platform is now firmly in the rotation of social media apps we check daily, or for the heavily addicted; morning, noon and night. TikTok evolved from a lockdown boredom buster with its endless loop of ultra-personalised content to a powerful business tool. It’s caused major shake-ups in the media industry, with Facebook-owned Instagram launching its short-form video format, Reels, in an effort to reel people back to their app. Regardless of where your allegiance lies, both are important tools for your business to spread the word on who you are and what you care about. Here’s how to use them to your advantage.

Dr Aronov’s videos range from an up-close take of patients under the knife to heart-warming cosmetic transformations. They aren’t for those with a weak stomach. Think Dr Pimple Popper on steroids, but still, people can’t look away. We spoke to Dr Lanzer, who also happens to be an associate of Dr Aronov, back in October 2020 when his TikTok account reached 1 million followers. He mentioned how technology had changed the aesthetics industry for the better, and audiences are captivated by the content surgeons create. “We’re fortunate that we have so many interesting things that people don’t normally get to see,” Dr Lanzer said.
