Natural Bridge Caverns

experience the uniqueness

After years of careful development and millions of dollars invested in design, engineering, technology, construction, and guest experience, Natural Bridge Caverns opened its latest and most ambitious tour: Hidden Wonders. Already the state’s largest and most visited commercial cave, this new multi-milliondollar tour experience features state-of-the-art lighting, a sound and light show, and expansion into never before toured areas of the property’s Hidden Cavern. Development of the new tour experience and careful development of new areas of the cavern has been underway since 2017.

The Hidden Cavern is a second cavern at Natural Bridge Caverns and part of the same geologic system. This distinct and unique environment never had a natural opening to the surface. As a result, incredibly delicate and beautiful formations were able to grow in a completely sealed

environment.

“In developing this area of the cavern system, we have both pursued and established best case practices for working in this delicate environment. Our goal is to give visitors a stunning view of the cavern like never before, without impacting its beauty,” said Brad Wuest, President of Natural Bridge Caverns.

“Developing this tour has been challenging due to many things – including the depth of the new public tour area. This expansion required the construction of a 710-foot exit tunnel - double the length of anything done before – and to do so with minimal impact on the cavern. We used best in class techniques and developed new ones to make it work. We took the time to do it right. The result speaks for itself.”

Fully programmable state-of-the-art lighting is one of the dramatic changes in the cavern as well as a 1100 foot

long expansion of the public passageways beginning with a stainless steel bridge across the cavern’s deepest point. Now guests will tour through an area that was only previously accessible by cavers. This addition will showcase an underground canyon, more formations, and a large 5,700-square-foot dome chamber called the Ballroom which serves as an event space.

A new viewing area overlooking a massive passage called the Box Canyon is now a natural theater for a unique sound and light show finale. Exiting the Hidden Wonders tour will also be a one-of-a-kind experience as guests effortlessly ride from underground to the surface on the 700-

foot long BAT (Belt Assisted Transport) through the newly constructed exit tunnel. The Bat is the world’s first conveyor system ride out of a cavern. All in all, these innovative features will combine to deliver a completely new experience of this Historic National Natural Landmark.

“We plan to showcase the science behind the beauty of this once hidden cavern on our tour,” said Wuest. “With Hidden Wonders’ many enhancements we have an opportunity to both educate and entertain.”

Additional highlights include Elvis Presley’s fringed vest from his 1955 performance at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach, and a decades of music display to include hip-hop pioneer MC Hammer’s sequined outfit during his Club MTV Spring Break performances in 1990 and 1994.

florida’s gold coast doesn’t disappoint Destin-Fort Walton Beach

nown for pristine sugar-white sand and vibrant, emerald-green waters, Destin-Fort Walton Beach naturally welcomes families to explore together and set out on memorable, water-based adventures.

Sugar-white Sand + Emerald-green Water

sands that exist today. The sand remains cool to the touch year-round and gives the water its trademark emerald color by reflecting sunlight through the surf, creating a picturesque backdrop for a perfect photo.

Getting Out on the Water

Play on the water isn’t just fun for kids it’s a transformative experience. With more than 20 miles of coastline, plus protected bays and bayous, the best way to explore is on the water.

With 60 miles of breathtaking Atlantic coastline and endless unforgettable experiences, including an array of brand-new offerings, there are always memories to be made at The Beach during this exciting season.

Sunny Skies and Outdoor Activities

Myrtle Beach enjoys over 200 days of sunshine a year, and its 60 miles of stunning shoreline are the perfect place to catch some springtime rays and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of ocean waves rolling in.

Beyond the beach, step aboard a variety of water vessels (pontoons, riverboats, airboats, speedboats, and even catamarans!) for a relaxing or high-speed deep dive into the unique landscapes, waterways and fishing opportunities in the Myrtle Beach area. Discover a multitude of flora and

fauna that call this area home and be on the lookout for Atlantic bottlenose dolphins along the way!

Perusing Local Art and Performances

Launched in September 2022, the Visit Myrtle Beach Arts & Gallery Trail is an unexpected look into the destination brimming with color and culture around every corner. The trail boasts more than 100 art-filled attractions, including oceanfront sculptures, enormous photoworthy murals, quaint working studios and even a secret underground passage filled with art. Stretching from Little River and North Myrtle Beach to Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island, visitors will be guided to many of the Grand Strand’s lesser-known areas, such as historic downtown Conway, the quaint “Little Golden Town” of Aynor and the newly minted Arts & Innovation District.

The ongoing revitalization and development in Myrtle Beach’s Arts & Innovation District is gaining steam with the relocation of the new Good Vibes Surf & Skate shop

and opening of the Grand Strand Brewing Company, alongside recently established restaurants, galleries and retailers. Future developments will include new stores, restaurants and even a gym, as well as the restoration of the Broadway Theater into a 300-seat performing arts center.

Ridiculously Fresh Seafood

From casual eateries and fusion cuisine to fine dining without pretension, the Grand Strand boasts a plethora of mouthwatering culinary experiences. Fresh seafood abounds in the Myrtle Beach region, and there is always an opportunity to sample the catch of the day around every corner.

A sister restaurant to the beloved Bubba’s Fish Shack, Bubba’s Fish Camp is a new eatery that offers a beachinspired menu with fried and grilled seafood along with meats smoked in-house, conveniently located right across from Broadway at the Beach.

Murrells Inlet is a small waterfront fishing village on the south end of the Grand Strand - “o-fish-ially” dubbed South Carolina’s seafood capital - with one of the richest histories in South Carolina. Today, the Murrells Inlet Historic District is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and offers an array of restaurants with stunning waterfront views.

Incredible Family Adventures

Ripley’s Aquarium is introducing all-new experiences in Myrtle Beach this spring. These exciting, familyfriendly attractions include the notable Sloth Valley habitat – bringing guests face-to-face with the adorable, two-toed species – as well as the Ripley’s Illusion Lab, Ripley’s Crazy Golf, Ripley’s Mirror Maze expansion and Ripley’s Haunted Adventure.

Brand new to Myrtle Beach’s Coastal Grand Mall, Stars and Strikes Getaway-n-Play is a 52,500 square-foot fam-

ily entertainment complex that offers an immersive, augmented reality bowling experience, as well as an arcade, a multi-story laser tag arena, axe throwing and more.

Nighttime Entertainment

The soundtrack found along The Beach includes much more than peaceful waves, it also thrums with beats from hundreds of live music gigs on weekends. From scenic stages and world-renowned music halls, the Grand Strand comes alive with music from up-and-coming artists. If grabbing a mic is your thing, join Julio Navarro as he tours (and sings!) at the area’s best bars and restaurants on the YouTube series Myrtle Beach Karaoke.

An immersive musical experience at The Beach wouldn’t be complete without taking in one of the multitude of shows that shine along the Strand. What began with Calvin Gilmore and the Carolina Opry in 1986, has grown to include nearly two dozen theater productions.

The Alabama Theatre of North Myrtle Beach’s new production, ICONIC, is a cutting-edge, brand-new on-stage and in-air show with visual elements and a state-of-the-art video wall unlike anything the Grand Strand has ever seen. In celebration of the theater’s 30th anniversary, ICONIC features widely recognized Country music chartbusters, Classic Rock anthems, Broadway, and Pop power ballads, and is a must-see this spring.

Great Accommodations

Completed in late 2022, the $65 million renovation of two of Kingston Resorts’ oceanfront properties (The Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort and the Embassy Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort) includes fully updated accommodations, two waterparks, and an island-themed outdoor pool and dining space.

At Tet Rouge, wellness extends beyond the confines of the resort as guests are encouraged to explore the surrounding rainforests and waterfalls of the Gimie Gimie Estate and Edmund Forest Reserve, climb the Gros Piton, snorkel the reefs of the west coast, and try tasty dishes at local restaurants.

Culinary Delights

Its own restaurant, Ti Coco, is counted among the best on the island utilising market-fresh produce and catch of the day from the fishermen at nearby Choiseul.

Vegetarian and vegan dishes are a speciality drawing on the knowledge of St Lucia’s Carib and Rastafarian communities to prepare delicious “Ital” (vital) creations.

Stay With Them

ning sea view suites including taxes, service charge and daily breakfast for two. Tet Rouge has also launched a new wellness package that includes private round trip airport transfers, full body massage, manicure and pedicure, rainforest adventure hike to the beautiful En Bas Saut Falls on the Gimie Gimie Estate, and daily breakfast for two. historic charm meets romantic charm Florence, Italy

othing and I mean nothing screams romantic charm and historic culture more than the city of Florence or as Italians say, Firenze. Florence is one of the most historic cities in Italy. I was fortunate enough to live there after college for six months, and honestly, I still pinch myself.

Why? Because I cannot believe that city’s beauty was my home for some time. It’s a city you can always visit as well. I went recently and I fell even more in love with it than I already was.

You’ll never get sick of it or have the feeling of, ‘I’ve already seen it’ so I don’t want to see it again. You just will never get that feeling from this city. There’s just too much magic and beauty in it.

Florence is Italy’s capital and is most famous for its culture, food, art, museums, and charm.

You can visit the Uffizi Gallery which houses works by renowned artists such as Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo. You can see the famous Michelangelo statue of David at the Galleria dell’Accademia which should be on your bucket list.

Take note, that there’s a lot to see in Florence. If you enjoy traveling slowly and really want to soak up the city, you could stay for weeks. Let’s be real you could live here for a year and really get a feel for the place. Of course, I couldn’t recommend it more.

The best time to visit Florence in my opinion is April/ May and September/October. Those are the most pleasant months that are not too cold or not too humid or hot, it’s just perfect. Since Florence is a walkable city you will be walking a lot so keep that in mind. Being out and about inhot humid weather around town is not always so fun, even when you are in one of the most beautiful cities in the

world.

The Best Things to Do in Florence:

Visit the Piazzale Michelangelo

Hands down one of my favorite places and things to do in Florence. This place is incredible. Situated on a hill called Monte Pincio, south of the Arno River, offers panoramic views of the city’s skyline. There’s a replica of Michelangelo’s renowned statue of David at the top. What’s most

magnificent about this place is that it’s free and gold hour here is something that will be in your mind forever. There’s just nothing like it. The experience of seeing the beauty all around you is one you will cherish forever.

Visit the Piazza Del Duomo

Piazza Del Duomo is the most popular duomo in the world. It is located r ight in the center of Florence known as the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. You will be in awe as soon as you lay eyes on her. The intricate marble details of this building are insane and you can even go all the way to the top of the Duomo to get amazing views of the city. It’s over 400

steps so get ready to ‘work’.

Walk Along Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio is so the oldest bridge in Florence as it’s so unique. It’s filled with countless jewelry shops surrounded by some great restaurants too. When I lived there we used to sunbathe along the river overlooking the bridge after school with friends. That memory will forever be with me when I think of Ponte Vecchio.

Visit Piazza Della Signoria

One of Florence’s main piazzas because it’s been a focal point since the Florentine Republic. The city is filled with piazzas so make sure to visit most of them but especially this one and Piazza Santo Spirito

Go Wine Tasting in Tuscany for the Day

Florence is not only famous for their food but also for their wine, specifically their Chianti. You can find many tours that involve lunch, history, and knowledge of winetasting, and even visiting some small towns and villages on the way

East Your Heart Out

Some of the best food I ever ate was in Florence. Food in Florence is more than just ‘food’. It’s their culture. It’s love. And it’s what brings the people alive there. Eat everything when you are there. It’s a memory and experience you will never forget. And in the end, that is the reason we why we travel. Some other recommendations for Florence:

the journey continues... The Edge of Adventure

just turned 50 in March. And one thing is for sure: It’s been quite a journey.

I’ve seen beauty and ugliness.

I’ve felt joy and pain.

I’ve been taken from and given to.

I’ve played in the yard as a kid. And I’ve commuted to work in traffic for years.

I’ve held on to things I should’ve let go of. And I’ve walked away from things I would never get back.

I’ve slept like a rock after a hard day’s work. And I’ve laid awake wondering.

I’ve held my newborn son and wondered if I had what it takes to raise him. And I’ve stood in awe at his accomplishments.

I’ve been at home in foreign lands. And I’ve felt like a stranger in my own hometown. I’ve been unkind when I could’ve been patient. And I’ve let things slide that I shouldn’t have.

I’ve listened to live music and smiled because it somehow knew my story.

I’ve been by the hospital bed in uncertain times. And I’ve been in it.

I’ve laughed with friends till my eyes watered.

I’ve loved and lost. And loved again.

I’ve laid on the beach at night and watched the moon slip upward.

I’ve made phone calls I didn’t want to make.

I’ve come to grips with my imperfection.

I’ve buried loved ones and shouldered the responsibility of their memory.

I’ve been afraid at times. And I have learned not to fear.

I’ve been around enough to come face to face with evil. Yet I believe in Good.

I’m 50 now. And like you, my dear friends, I’ve been on a journey. Like you, I’ve been given the chance to do something special with what I’ve been through and what I have left.

I’m thankful to be on this road with all its twists and turns. I’m thankful for you. And I’m ready for the adventure ahead.

CULINARY

Visteria

stunning new restaurant opens

Hotel Royal Victoria unveils its latest fine dining concept with VISTERIA. A highlight of the property, the new restaurant is now open to locals and hotel guests alike.

A menu of Mediterranean and authentic cuisine will delight diners’ palates, while their eyes feast on the enchanting views of Lake Como. VISTERIA’s sophisticated and elegant ambience sets the tone for an immersive dining experience steeped in rich history, delivering a menu of regional classics revisited in a contemporary way.

Inspired by the stunning native wisteria plant, VISTERIA brings a new energy to the highly regarded Hotel Royal Victoria and community of Varenna. The restaurant offers epicurean delicacies that are sophisticated, locally sourced, culturally-diverse and Italian at heart.

At the helm, Executive Chef Francesco Sarno has designed the new menu to showcase fresh and innovative Italian-fusion cuisine. With Italian heritage and classic culinary training, his dishes are artful in presentation and

eclectic in flavor. In addition to the standing menu, guests have the option of a 4-course and 6-course tasting menu (vegetarian option available). Both tasting menus are available with wine pairings.

Chef Sarno’s cuisine is a result of passion cultivated deep within Italian territory. His journey began in Campania, passing through Tuscany, Lombardy, and Emilia-Romagna arriving in the precious village of Varenna on Lake Como, to helm the kitchens at both Hotel Royal Victoria and Villa Cipressi.

It is in Varenna that he displays a wide breadth of experience, bringing freshness and au courant to VISTERIA’s culinary offerings and the overarching food and beverage programs.

“My philosophy behind the creation of each dish at VISTERIA is the exaltation of the genuine flavor that encapsulates 100 percent Italian cuisine,” says Chef Sarno. “Through the use of local ingredients, guests will explore the bounty, flavor and versatility of Mediterranean dishes

wrapped into our traditional five-course menu.”

Hotels’ in-house design team put forth a vision to seamlessly blend a more modern aesthetic with the existing, rich history of the hotel. A mix of materials and textures such as marbles, woods, crystals and velvets are woven throughout the space.

To further reflect the restaurant’s design and enhance the modern cuisine of Chef Sarno, VISTERIA has chosen Sumisura tableware by Table Art. Alongside the handmade and decorated Italian tableware, delicately blown glassware is presented for the finest wine tasting experience.

The table is enriched with very delicate blown glass for the best wine tastings. Additional table accouterments were sourced from local artisans. Intimate tables and panoramic windows allow guests dining indoors an open atmosphere to take in the dramatic scenery.

RELOCATION

from job opportunities to transportation Top Relocation Factors

There are a number of factors that influence where people choose to live in the United States. Some of the most common factors include:

Job opportunities. People may choose to live in a particular city or region because it has a strong job market or because it is home to their industry or field of work.

Cost of living. The cost of living in a particular city or region can be a major factor in where people choose to live. Cities with a high cost of living may be less attractive to people on a fixed income or those who are looking to stretch their budget further.

Quality of life. People may be attracted to cities or regions with a high quality of life, which can include factors such as a pleasant climate, access to recreational activities, and a low crime rate.

Proximity to family and friends. Some people may choose to live in a particular city or region because it is

close to their family and friends, or because it is a place they have always wanted to live.

Educational opportunities. Cities and regions with strong educational systems and institutions may be attractive to families with children or to those who are looking to further their education.

Cultural and recreational amenities. Cities with a rich cultural scene or access to recreational activities, such as parks, sports teams, and cultural events, may be more attractive to some people.

Transportation. Access to reliable transportation, such as public transit or major roads and highways, can be a factor in where people choose to live.

When relocating, it’s always important to align with a local Realtor to help you with some of these important factors.
