GUIDED OUTDOOR WALKS AND BUSHCARE | FEB – MAY 2025

Join us on free guided nature walks and Bushcare sessions available for all residents of The Hills and reconnect with your local environment. Discover nature, bushland conservation, history and heritage and uncover an appreciation for the everyday wonders of The Hills. Places are limited and bookings are essential.

Caring for our Waterways –Twilight Experience

Sunday 2 February | 6pm – 8pm twilight

Meeting point – Strangers Creek Sanctuary Drive Beaumont Hills

Celebrate World Wetlands Day and explore and discover local wetlands in your backyard and the wildlife that inhabit these areas through a series of interactive talks, Streamwatch/waterbug activities and twilight short walk. Learn about the importance of our wetlands in the ecosystem, how we can better protect these areas and what wildlife lives in these habitats! Tune in the senses and look out under the sunset/twilight sky to see what you may find.

Nature Wellness Walk and Bushcare

Sunday 23 March | 10am – 1pm

Meeting point – Excelsior Avenue Castle Hill

Eric Mobbs Reserve

Immerse yourself in the outdoors and discover the healing power of nature through a guided sensory wellness walk amongst the trees at Eric Mobbs Reserve. Learn about plant identification and bushland conservation through a guided Bushcare session with the local Eric Mobbs Reserve Bushcare group. Take time out of your busy lives to explore nature through the senses, learn of the benefits of nature connection to this special patch of bushland through helping the local Bushcare group. Bookings are essential and a catered BBQ lunch will be provided.

Nature Discovery Walk

Wednesday 23 April | 10am – 12pm school holidays

Meeting point – end of Porters Road Kenthurst

Explore and discover your local area this school holidays and connect with nature! Walk along a sandstone ridge through beautiful bushland and observe the beauty of Australian wildflowers and unique plant species in The Hills. Get outdoors, go on a nature treasure hunt and learn of plants, history and nature connection on a guided nature walk for the whole family. Children over 5 years and families are welcome.

This event is supported by Hawkesbury Nepean Landcare Network.

Habitat Walk and Bushcare

Saturday 17 May | 10am – 12pm

Meeting point – Warumbui Avenue Baulkham Hills

Crestwood Reserve

Explore critically endangered Sydney Turpentine Ironbark Forest and Sandstone Gully Forest in this area and make a positive difference to this special patch of bushland! Join us for this event which involves a guided walk along Toongabbie Creek pointing out native species, as well as a guided Bushcare session with the local Bushcare group (Crestwood Reserve Bushcare). Develop skills of bush regenerators and give back to the environment. Bookings are essential and a catered BBQ lunch will be provided.
