Brindle Parkway Reserve

Construction on Box Hill’s first sporting complex, Brindle Parkway Reserve, has begun.

Once complete, it will include:

• Two full-sized playing fields with cricket wicket;

• Cricket practice nets;

• Local playground and picnic shelter;

• Amenities building with accessible toilets, change rooms, kiosk and storage;

• Native tree and landscape planting; and

• Car park.

So far, bulk earthworks are being carried out. Stormwater work is continuing. Construction has also commenced on the new amenities building, with brickwork already underway. The reserve is anticipated to be opened in May 2024, weather permitting.

GEORGE THORNTON RESERVE, WEST PENNANT HILLS – FIELD EXPANSION

George Thornton Reserve is being upgraded to include an additional sports field. The new field will provide more opportunities for grassroots sporting competitions.

The work in this project includes:

• Re-sizing and realignment of the two existing playing fields. This work will increase the size of the playing field area in the western portion of the facility to accommodate an additional fullsized sports field;

• A new synthetic cricket pitch and cricket practice nets;

• New field irrigation and drainage with an additional water-harvesting tank;

• New sportsfield lighting to all fields;

• Ball stop fencing; and

• Sandstone retaining wall construction with planting and bush regeneration works.

Bulk earthworks and underground service installation are underway, and construction of the retaining wall has commenced. This project is anticipated to be completed by December 2023, weather permitting.

WEXPO is Western Sydney’s homegrown expo series, designed by locals to promote community and local businesses with exhibitors, keynote speakers, special events and workshops.

This year’s Hills WEXPO will kick-off with the Sydney Hills Business Chamber Business Connection Breakfast where Chamber members and guests can network and explore opportunities. This will be followed by a FREE business exhibition and FREE workshops, where residents and businesses alike can expand their networks, talk with exhibitors and experience a great day out.
