The 2023-24 financial year budget includes $155.1 million in delivering and maintaining infrastructure and over $120 million in growth-shaping projects, enhancing the local environment and building a vibrant community and economy.

Other highlights of the plan include:

• $18.8 million on Annangrove Road, Rouse Hill;

• $4.9 million on The Water Lane Reserve, Box Hill playing fields;

• $1.3 million on Cockayne Reserve, Castle Hill;

• $3.8 million on providing street lighting to create safer environments;

• $1.8 million on footpaths to enhance active lifestyles, such as walking and cycling opportunities;

• $7.4 million dedicated to continuing services such as Meals on Wheels, transport, Social Day Care and mental health services.

As part of this year’s plan, Council will also investigate opportunities to integrate neurodiverse facilities in the design of local parks and playgrounds, review and develop guidelines for electric vehicle charging facilities in residential developments and explore options to provide a permanent stage in the Shire for events and activities.

Council will also invest $5.3 million to support SES and Rural Fire Service teams, $600,000 for educational workshops and support programs for the local business community, and $8.4 million for library services to continue to provide the services and resources that residents enjoy and depend on.
