TAKE A WALK BACK IN TIME ON THE Early Settlers Metro Walk

The Hills Shire’s latest Metro Walk combines serene natural scenery with local history through the interpretive signage that can be found along the way.
The upper catchment area of Toongabbie Creek is the location of the earliest land settled in Baulkham Hills.
Learn about George Suttor, the pioneer of the citrus growing industry in The Hills and other early settlers while walking through valleys of tall Blackbutts and Sydney Turpentine Forest.
The walk also passes through the recently upgraded Roxborough Park Rose Garden.
Located next door to Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre, this is the perfect spot to stop for a rest and enjoy a coffee from Waves café.
Beginning at Showground Station and ending at Norwest Station, The Early Settlers Walk is approximately 11.6 kilometres long. It’s been graded as easy to do and takes about three to four hours to complete.
This walk marks number six in the series of self-guided walks that start at a Hills Metro Station, before leading walkers to hidden gems, wonderful scenery, and native wildlife. To learn more about this walk and to download the map, visit www.thehills.nsw.gov.au and search for ‘Metro Walks in The Hills.
