Gardening for Native Bees! Amelie Ecology
Saturday 18 May | 10am – 12pm
Did you know that there are over 2000 species of native bees in Australia? Who might live in your patch? And how can we make that space the best it can BEE?
Join us to celebrate World Bee Day in this interactive workshop where we will learn about the diversity of native bees, where they live, and what flowers they feed on. Participants of all ages will be supported with strategies to design and nurture your own spaces (big or small!) for people and pollinators.

The Hills Shire Council Environment Day
Sunday 2 June | 9am – 1pm
Save the Date for an Environment Day event celebrating the theme of land restoration! There will be interactive activities, stalls and talks on land restoration, growing natives, Platypus in The Hills, Hills Hornsby Koala Project, and Growing Food for Wildlife. We will also be running guided nature walks and Bushcare sessions with the local Annangrove Park Bushcare group. Come along, have a day out and connect with your environment and community groups in your area!

This workshop will give you an overview of how to create a home permaculture garden that is productive and “eco-friendly”. Good design is the basis of a productive garden, so come and learn some basic permaculture design principles and practices, that will help you establish your own veggie garden, and live with less adverse impact on the planet.

Get involved in Plastic Free July this school holidays, learn how to live a plastic free life, and make beeswax wraps to take home, a plastic free alternative to common products! Plastics have become infused into our lives from clothes to packaging, even skincare! Make a difference and take control to live a more plastic free life by looking into alternatives to common products. This workshop is supported by the Resource Recovery team.
