Editor’s Letter
Dear reader,
many of us move through life believing that we reside in our own tiny universe; a universe that has no impact on any of the many others.
What many don’t realize, however, is that there is something concealed from our view that connects all of our universes.
This thing is what we call the Hidden Vine.
every festival, every grand opening, every anniversary, and every event happening in Temecula Valley are all woven together by this hidden vine.
It moves through every family, every business, and every household, bringing about excitement, growth, and inspiration to all who are connected.
Perhaps this sounds far-fetched to you, but even as you hold this magazine in your hands understand that you are now a recipient of the beautiful energy this vine brings.
You feel it, don’t you?
In this inaugurial issue, I couldn’t be more pleased to present to you not a list of local businesses, but an array of hand-picked services, families, and products that we believe hold the core values of The Hidden Vine.
We eagerly anticipate the many events and celebrations happening this month and it is my hope is that hidden vine does what it does best… carry the laughter and love to uplift us all.
enjoy!
until next time,
~Porsché mysticque Steele

Despite challenges, local husband and father of four focuses on the future.
Jonathon montanez and his wife, elyse, were like you, me, and everyone else during the pandemic: fearful and uncertain of the future. but despite those challenges, they opened a business with an eye toward building and embracing a healthier lifestyle going forward.
The Hidden Vine caught up to Jonathon and had a chance to hear his story.
Jonathon was upfront about where his priorities lie:
“First and foremost, I am a father, and I am a husband. I’ve got four incredibly amazing children that I’m very, very grateful for,” he said with genuine pride. His eyes shifted over to his daughter who was sitting across the table.
Jonathon’s life had been a series of twists, turns, and

pivots that reflects a mix of personal and professional growth, driven by love, passion, and authenticity.
“My wife and I have been married for five years”, he began.
His hands were clasped in front of him on the table, but with that statement, he unlocked his fingers and melted back in his seat.
“We started the venture of owning a business in october 2019, a mobile bartending service, Life of the barty. but there were challenges.”
Two and a half years ago, Jonathon and elyse became non-drinkers so they could more effectively focus on business and because it was simply a healthier lifestyle for them.
He gave a chuckle as he realized the irony of it all.
“We realized that the distractions of drinking while run-

ning a bartending business were hard to get focused.”
The couple started their business small using the resources they had before them, and their business has grown significantly over the past two and a half years.
but even still, Jonathon insisted on remaining humble and building their business with his own two hands, both figuratively and literally.
“We started with one wooden box bar that was given to us, but I now build all of our bars, custom-made, in my backyard.”
Humility and simplicity seemed to be Jonathon’s main focus for life, especially after a tumultuous journey prior to Life of the barty.
He shared his passion for respiratory Therapy and how that job came to a screeching halt after an unexpected life change. Forcing him to pivot, Jonathon found himself in the restoration business along with his brother as a means to an end. However, the supposed temporary stint to pay the bills turned into a 12-year career.
Though he was thriving, work seemed unnecessarily stressful. Thankfully, the opportunity to shift into a business development and marketing role presented itself.
one could say this was the catalyst for the impact he now creates.
Being a member of the Temecula Chamber of Com-

merce, Jonathon used his time there to access a whole new network of positive, forward-thinking people that he ended up building meaningful relationships with.
one of those folks was Sebastian Sidi. “He approached me and I didn’t know him from anybody,” Jonathon explained.
He rubbed his left shoulder and looked over to the left as if the vision of their first encounter was playing out in his mind.
“We started getting to know each other from the chamber functions, and we realized that we had this fun little banter, and I think that he enjoyed it so much. He had just started doing this networking mixer out of his house, Neighbor’s monthly mixer, and he knew that it was kind of outgrowing his home. He asked me if I wanted to come in as a partner.”
Jonathon was in his stride, but soon, he was presented with a work opportunity that would take him away from his newfound passions inside the Chamber and Neighbor’s.
“If I took the job,” he recounted, “I wouldn’t have had the Neighbor’s Mixer. I wouldn’t have had my Chamber. So elyse asked me, ‘Don’t worry about money. Take money off the table. What do you want to do?’ And that was it. I didn’t want to give up this life that I had built.”
Spotlight jONAThON mONTANez
He shook his head with a soft smile as his eyes began to water.
His love for elyse was front and center. She had gifted him with the opportunity to focus solely on his passions, freeing him from the burden of unfulfilling work.
With Elyse by his side, Jonathon’s life has been a series of ‘intentional life choices’, that have led to significant roles within his community, most notably as the lead organizer of TeDx Temecula.
“Life really happens how you want it to, by design, because unintentionally, it has kind of turned out that way.”
This was on full display with his deep involvement in the Valley Young Professionals, a networking group for young

leaders under 40. Through his work, he connected with Jim mcLaughlin, the original TeDx Temecula organizer.
Jonathon’s not one to just ‘talk the talk’. In December 2023, after being invited by Jim to take over the event, he embraced the role with pride. “I knew it was a huge privilege, but I also knew it was a big responsibility.”
Jonathon is committed to expanding TeDx Temecula’s impact across the entire Temecula Valley and making it a destination event. And he’s particularly interested in getting young people involved; a task for which he is well qualified.
“If you can affect one person’s life and maybe change their thinking about something or have them take something home with them that they will put into practice and will improve their lives or the lives around them, that’s all I want.”
TeDx Temecula 2024 will take place on September 28th at the Temecula Theater.
So what’s next for Jonathon and elyse? The Hidden Vine got the inside scoop.
“I haven’t told anybody, so this will be the first time saying it out loud,” Jonathon teased, “but we actually just invested it in a 1972 Volkswagen bus that we are going to convert into a tap van. You pull up to an event, a family fun festival or a fair, a carnival, and you just pour from it. We’re calling it the barty bus.”

Former teacher focuses his educational experience in the real estate market.
David Michael Casey doesn’t consider himself to be simply a real estate consultant, and after our interview with him, neither do we.
David, or Dm as most people call him, spoke to the Hidden Vine about why he left a career in education to build his own successful business as a real estate executive in the Temecula Valley.
“It’s a relationship,” Dm shares with us as we sat in the rather empty coffee shop at Vail Headquarters.
“I would say that the relationship […] pretty much starts on building that foundational trust and getting to know each other [to] see if you’re going to be a good fit.” He sat back in his chair slowly and gave a soft smile. His gentle demeanor seemed to punctuate his humility.
“I definitely view myself more as a consultant, rather than just like a blanket real estate agent,” he clarified. He explained the importance of helping his clients achieve a specific goal that works for them.
Dm keeps his client list light, working with only a handful of clients at a time, and his educational
DAVID CAseY
background provides the perfect platform for instructing prospective clients on the complexities of the Temecula real estate market.
DM graduated from Cal State San Marcos with an undergraduate degree in biological studies. From there he went on to the university of redlands where he received his master’s degree in education. For Dm and his family, things got really busy, really fast.

“I started teaching,” he reminisced. “I taught everything from sixth grade to seniors in high school, from general science to agricultural biology, aquaponics, horticulture, FFA…” his voice trailed off as he took a sip of his iced coffee.
As if that didn’t keep Dm busy enough, he also coached soccer after school.
“I enjoyed it. It was a fun time in my life that I look back on, being able to teach students and being able to be influential in their lives,” he explained.
Spotlight DAVID CAseY

but as often happens, the grueling schedule of being a teacher and a coach took its toll on him and the whole family.
“I’d wake up at 5:30 super early, get to school, have to work all day, take more meetings, run a department meeting, then soccer practice. Then I get on the bus, get off the bus, and am home at 7 or 8:30, wake up the next day, and figure it out again.”
Jumping from public education into real estate sounds like it was quite a hurdle. but there was really one thing that Dm had on his mind when he made the final decision.
“Definitely my family is number one.”
And given what he intended to achieve leaving teaching and venturing into real estate, it was a big step indeed.
“I decided to take a leap of faith and be full-time,” he said with raised eyebrows indicating he must have known how crazy that sounded.
Luckily, his wife, who was also a former
educator and experienced the same high-demand, low-result nature of public schools, was all on board. Armed with faith and a solid foundation for their two small children, Dm and his wife embarked on their journey to become the most authentic and overall best Temecula realtor.
“When I left public school, I told myself that I really would always do what’s in the best interest of my clients, and that I would help anyone who needed help in any way that I can.”
And indeed he has. In just 3 years, Dm has helped numerous families find peace of mind and freedom through buying, selling, or renting properties.
DM Casey is the Temecula Partner for mint real estate and he loves doing what he does best; helping people and giving advice, consultation, and more importantly, education on what he believes is in the best interest of his clients. Whether it’s to teach you how to sell your home, how to buy a home, or how to get creative in a way that benefits you and your family, DM is the guy to do so.

once a teacher, always a teacher.

Local visionary transforms Temecula businesses with passion and connection.
The Hidden Vine magazine recently visited the vibrant and ever-energetic Kassy Webb, the dynamic force behind Connecting Visionaries Agency. Known for her passionate commitment to helping solopreneurs thrive, Kassy’s story is one of dedication, resilience, and a deep connection to her community.
Growing up in murrieta, a stone’s throw from Temecula, Kassy’s roots run deep in the local area. “I’ve lived here for over 20 years,” Kassy reflected with her now famous smile.
“but there’s a gap in business owners not getting enough networking and connections with their community because they just don’t know where to go or who to ask.”
Her journey to becoming the founder of Connecting Visionaries Agency was anything but conventional. As a child, Kassy was always fascinated by science. “I was a science nerd,” she said with a light chuckle,
kAssY weBB
recalling how her parents encouraged her to pursue her passion.
Initially, Kassy enrolled as a mechanical engineering major at San Diego State university, but life had other plans. After a few years, she transferred to Cal State San Marcos, where she would find her true calling.
At Cal State San Marcos, Kassy pursued a degree in biotechnology, but it wasn’t just the science that intrigued her. The university, recognizing a gap in the industry, offered an upper-division track that combined science with business courses. Kassy eagerly took classes in management, organization, marketing, and social media marketing.
“These were things that the science companies needed,” she explained. “There was a disparity in people who

could translate scientific material into something marketable and profitable.”
Her education laid the foundation for a successful career. While still in college, Kassy landed a position as the marketing director for a million-dollar business, where she played a pivotal role in transforming it into a multi-million-dollar enterprise. but despite her success, Kassy always felt a pull to do more, to make a difference.
“I’m really passionate about being impactful in my community here locally in Temecula,” she said as she made a sweeping motion with her arm.

“It’s about putting the ladder back down,” she continued.
“I want to bring these businesses to a different level of awareness so they can be successful.”
For Kassy, connections are the heart of business growth.
“Connections rely on reciprocity,” she explained. “I think a lot of people forgot what it means to be neighborly. Temecula has heart, and I want to bring that back to life.”
Her commitment to connections is deeply personal. Living with lupus, an autoimmune disease that can cause debilitating flares, Kassy understands the importance of support and understanding.
“As long as I manage my stress, I’m generally pretty flare-free,” she shared. “but when it comes up, it knocks me out.” Despite these challenges, Kassy’s resilience shines through. She’s even worked with the Lupus Foundation of America, an experience she describes as profoundly impactful.

“I want to work with people who are looking to lend their services in exchange for nothing, knowing that when you give, it comes back ten times,” she described. recently, Kassy has focused on helping black business owners, recognizing the unique challenges they face. Her goal is to turn her agency into a nonprofit that offers affordable marketing services to these entrepreneurs. “my motto is ‘impact over income,’” she declares. “That’s where the longevity and success of your business come from.”

Congratulations to Heather Tucker!
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Heather from Class Act Design on the design of my latest flyer, and I have to say that it was truly one of the greatest design experiences I’ve had. She made the whole process so easy. I didn’t have to stress and she didn’t make me feel silly for not knowing exactly what I wanted.
Heather really took her time to work with me, educate me, and still deliver a design I was happy with. I believe she deserves this spotlight because I want more people to know how great she is.
Thanks, Heather!”

PUDN What Are We Eating?

Written by Porsché

There it was, in all its glory, perfectly positioned at the center of the tray.
The yellow paper beneath gave the overflowing glass jar a sunshine yellow reflection allowing the slow-dripping caramel to glow with a vibrance that seemed almost unreal.

Nestled around the edge of the perfect cloud of whipped cream was the Nilla wafers that defied all laws of physics as they maintained their balance along with the small pieces of chopped almond resting comfortably atop.
And at the center was the piece de resistance: the silky smooth banana pudding filling every inch of the inside of the jar, hiding slices of fresh banana waiting to delight every single tastebud.
Walking into PuDN was an experience beyond any other.
*Ding Ding* “Woooweee! Welcome!” the team shouted in unison.
This is how every new customer at PuDN is greeted at the register.
With the top hits from the 90s playing in the background, you immediately feel an electric vibe that puts a smile on your face and I was certainly in la la land.
Mysticque Steele
What Are We Eating?

The cool banana pudding swirled around with the slight saltiness of the caramel and almonds. by the grace of God, the slice of banana magically merged with the wafer to create a stacked marvel, bringing it all together.
The sweetest bite of my life.
In less than 5 minutes, the jar was empty as I scraped the bottom praying for just another spoonful.
I can say without a doubt, that that was the best banana pudding I’ve ever had in my life.
If your tastebuds are screaming for your own taste, head to Villiage Walk in murrieta and get your very own PuDN.
Follow them on Instagram @famouspudn.
As you walk up to the counter, all of your senses ignite. The smell of what seems like every sweet pastry ever made rolled into one tickles your nose. As your eyes scan the countertop, you’re dazzled by the colorful array of pudding types and toppings on full display. Your brain begins to attempt to process the number of pudding combinations you can create.
but it’s no use. The possibilities are endless.
The caramel crunch banana pudding sitting on the tray in front of me was a work of art. I stared in wonder for a moment before dipping the carefully crafted pudding spoon into the jar.
With an audacious scoop, I somehow managed to pull out every single ingredient in one heap.
A banana, a wafer, caramel, almonds, pudding, and the lightest whipped cream in the world.
I opened wide and was instantly put into a daze of pure bliss.

Local man gives “Garage Band” a whole new meaning one of the world’s most incredible musical talents is your Neighbor and we got the opportunity to interview him in his home!
From the outside, it’s a normal Southern California home on a quiet cul-de-sac. our host, Sebastian, greets us at the door. “my wife is still working in the other room”, Sebastian tells us, as he waits for his coffee to finish brewing in the family’s kitchen and we are immediately shuttled into Sebastian’s three-car garage.
It’s clear the second you step through the door that this is no ordinary garage. Sebastian quickly joins us for the interview, freshly brewed cup of joe in hand, with The Hidden Vine’s Porsché mysticque.
Porsché and Sebastian are seated comfortably in two lush orange chairs parked in front of several stationary and one automatic track-driven camera that is slowly dollying left
Written by Elbern F. Calvert
and right as it records the interview. Sebastian jumps up to adjust the cameras and monitors then sits back down. A couple of people in the background need to shift positions. The cameras are picking them up. Sound checks are complete. And we’re rolling.
THV: Thank you for inviting me to this awesome space! We are in Sebastian’s studio, the founder of Sebaz Video Productions.
“Well, first of all, we are not in a studio,” Sebastian shares with the audience. “This is my three-car garage. In case you didn’t put that together yourself.”
In fact, we had, but that didn’t make it any less impressive.
We are in a fully functional video and audio studio, complete with a green screen wall, concert-style lighting and sound, ceiling-to-floor black curtains, camera dolly tracks, microphone stands, control boards, a full-size piano, and more than a few candles. A very professional and clean space. really impressive!

Spotlight seBAsTIAN sIDI
THV: We’re going to get into all of that background…but first I want you to appropriately introduce yourself!
Sebastian Sidi: I am the owner of Sebaz Productions, Incorporated. Just incorporated this past year, actually.
THV: Congratulations!
“I’ve been having a great time the last eight years just building my business, and just growing and learning and connecting with the community,” Sebastian continues.
“I was a musician before I was a full-time videographer…I started doing music videos. When I moved out to Temecula, I started doing short promos for different businesses, events, ribbon cuttings, and one thing led to another.”
In fact, Sebastian estimates that about 70% of his business is doing work for local cities: Temecula, menifee, eastvale, Norco, and Agoura Hills to name just a few.

“I get to see and learn so many different things from so many different cities,” Sebastian shares.
There’s a sparkle in his eye as he gives a genuine smile.
He likes and appreciates the city leaders’ desire to connect with the community.
“The way they operate and the way they work to bring their communities together.”
In researching Sebastian Sidi, we were awestruck by the musical prowess of this talented entrepreneur.
A YouTube search of Sebastian Sidi brought up a list of TV interviews, live keyboard performances, and impressive original music that shows a depth of talent very few artists possess.
He was on morning talk shows, Spanish television interviews, and playing in front of live audiences. He even did PbS specials.
“I was part of three PbS specials, where I have…cameras all over, flying around filming me perform,” Sebastian tells us beaming with pride.
but despite his astounding and successful musical prowess,
Spotlight seBAsTIAN sIDI

he walked away. but not even a hint of regret was shown in Sebastian’s eyes. It’s clear he loves what he’s doing now.
“I gave up a musical career. I had a really good career, and I gave it up on purpose.”
but still, it begs the question, why video production?
“even though I was doing well [in music] I knew that it wasn’t something I wanted to do ten years from that moment. So, I wanted to transition over…I had to find something else artistic.”
As it turns out Sebastian really liked the lights and cameras.
“I was pretty intrigued by all the cameras…I found myself at moments where I was more excited about all the cameras around me than actually being…on it.”
Sebastian found his way into video editing after performing on one of his PbS specials and watching the video editor he had hired. “I hired a crew to do it, and the gentleman that came over with his laptop to edit my concert was editing really slow.”
Sebastian was fascinated.
“Hey…can I try some of these edits?”
He asked the guy if he could leave his laptop so Sebastian could practice editing. He finished editing his concert that night. “I realized that…I had a niche for it…this is what I’m going to be doing. And I love it because I can still be creative!”
THV: So, let’s talk about the transition. You talked about how you were in music. What was it like, why you got into it, and then, of course, leading up to the transition.
Sebastian started playing drums at age 13 and joined a few rock bands.
“I wasn’t really hearing the music that I wanted to play…” Sebastian recalls, “…and when I was about 16 years old…a little kid left his keyboard at one of our New Year’s parties. And I started kind of playing around…coming up with these little melodies… just melodies that were in my head…”
Sebastian’s eyes lit up. “I started showing the guitar player of the band ‘Hey, can you do this?’ He started playing the guitar to what I would compose on the piano.”
Sebastian continued “…and before I knew it, I was composing songs.”
Spotlight seBAsTIAN sIDI

Then Sebastian shares a fact that few might have never guessed:
“I don’t read music, so it’s all in my head.” While that might seem shocking to some, it’s a gift shared by many famous musicians and composers. Jimi Hendrix, Taylor Swift, and bob Dylan are or were among many prominent artists who can’t read or write music.
Sebastian’s in good company.
Sebastian found himself getting requests and performing at every outdoor venue in Southern California. And he was working steady. “I was drawing crowds, and I was selling CDs all day long. So, I was making like $1,000 a day, $1,500 a day…I was having the time of my life and in my 20’s, right? but I knew that…the time came where I had to say ‘okay, let’s plan for something else here, because this, I can’t do this too much longer.”
“but you’re still playing, right? We know that you still perform…” Porsché clarifies. “What does that look like for you?”
Although Sebastian transitioned out of a fulltime music career, he continues to perform. His video production business helps finance and
promote his concerts.
“even though I’m not a full-time musician anymore, I still perform occasionally. It’s something that will always be a part of me.”
In fact, Sebastian Sidi will be performing on September 7th, 2024 at 8pm at The Corporate Room Event & Meeting Center in Wildomar. With special guests, guitarist Kevin Zingale, saxophonist Jason Weber, and a special comedy performance by Karen robertson.
General admission and VIP tickets may be purchased online at SebastianSidi.com.
Sebastian owes much of his success to the networking he’s been a participant in for some time. He founded a successful monthly networking mixer in Temecula.
“The networking mixer started out of my garage. Just a small gathering of like-minded people.” Now it has grown to be one of the largest non-chamber affiliated mixers in the Temecula Valley. Sebastian has more networking opportunities ahead.
“I’m looking forward to the Neighbor’s business expo in october. Last year’s event was a huge success, and this year we’re planning to make it even bigger!”
Sebastian has also become involved in TeDx Temecula, collaborating with Jonathan montanez, who was selected as the new organizer of TeDx Temecula.
“I’m really excited about working with Jonathan on TeDx Temecula,” adding that he’s excited about the process of selecting the TeDx speakers.
“It’s such a prestigious event, and I’m handling all the video production and helping with the event flow.”
As the interview wrapped, one could feel the proverbial rising of the tide that lifts all ships.
“It’s been amazing to see the visibility of my business grow in Temecula. People recognize the work we do, and that’s really gratifying.”
In closing, the talented artist adds with a smile, “At the end of the day, it’s all about community and relationships. That’s what keeps me motivated and excited to keep pushing forward.”
