Spring Training is finally here! I love this time of year, and the idea of watching a baseball game every day.
Living in the Valley of the Sun guarantees you always have something to do! This month, I hope you can enjoy each moment with the ones you love. I hope your March is amazing (despite the traffic).
The theme for The Grand Season this month is patience. I’ve realized that I’m much better at being patient with those I desire to impress, rather than those I love the most. So, this month, I’m working on changing my behavior, and am going to include becoming more patient with myself.
As always, thank you for your support of The Grand Season, and all of our local advertisers who are committed to providing you with an incredible value and excellent customer service.
Play ball!

HEALTH
THE MORE YOU KNOW
In a world that thrives on instant gratification, patience is often overlooked as a virtue. However, practicing patience can have profound effects on both mental and physical health. From reducing stress levels to improving overall well-being, patience plays a crucial role in maintaining a balanced and healthy life.
Reduces Stress and Anxiety
One of the most significant health benefits of patience is its ability to reduce stress. When individuals rush through life, feeling frustrated when things don’t go their way, their stress levels rise. Chronic stress leads to increased production of cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone, which is linked to numerous health issues, including high blood pressure, heart disease, and weakened immune function. By practicing patience, individuals can remain calm and composed, significantly reducing stress and anxiety.
Improves Mental Health
Impatience often leads to frustration, anger, and irritability—emotions that can negatively impact mental well-being. On the other hand, patience fosters emotional resilience. Those who cultivate patience are better equipped to handle setbacks and disappointments, leading to a more positive and optimistic mindset. Studies suggest that
patient individuals experience lower levels of depression and higher life satisfaction.
Enhances Heart Health
Patience also has a direct impact on heart health. People who struggle with impatience and frequent frustration are more prone to high blood pressure and heart-related diseases. Learning to remain patient can help lower heart rate, maintain normal blood pressure, and decrease the risk of cardiovascular complications.
Strengthens Relationships
Healthy relationships are crucial for mental and emotional well-being, and patience is a key ingredient in maintaining them. Whether in friendships, family, or romantic relationships, patience allows individuals to listen, understand, and empathize with others. This reduces conflicts, promotes stronger bonds, and creates a more supportive social environment, which is essential for long-term happiness.
Incorporating patience into daily life can lead to profound health benefits. From reducing stress to improving heart health and strengthening relationships, patience is not just a virtue—it’s a pathway to a healthier, happier life.
When you finish a wood-working project, save your leftover bits of sandpaper and use them to sharpen your scissors. All you need is a piece long enough to make a few cuts through.
Lock your device! Just as you wouldn’t leave your door unlocked, so too should you not leave your phone unlocked, particularly if you have applications on your smartphone that can be easily accessed. Lock it up, and be smart.
Plastic grocery bags are handy for so many uses, but keeping them organized is a pain. A great solution is to use an empty tissue box to store them. Just ball up each bag individually and stuff it in the tissue box..
Tired of squirrels on your bird feeders? String a line of 2-liter soda bottles (as many as you like) together, and hang them between two trees, with the feeder in the middle. Works like a charm.
If your water takes a minute to warm up, keep a pitcher by the sink. Let the water flow into the pitcher until it gets warm. Then, use that water (that otherwise would have been wasted) on your houseplants and in your garden.

PRACTICE PATIENCE
Ever wondered what the most important aspect of a healthy marriage is? Research indicates patience is exactly what you need if you want your relationship to be stable and successful.
In a marital life, both the partners play an equally vital role. So, it is crucial they handle the ups and downs of their married life with a great deal of patience.
Moreover, patience is required at almost every stage of a couple’s life. For example when you have a heated argument with your partner, patience is the key to sort it out.
Further, you need to have a huge amount of patience within yourself when it comes to coping with your partner’s annoying habits such as them being late, or their frustration over petty things. If you get annoyed easily, or cannot handle situations with a calm attitude, then it is time for you to learn how to deal with it. Patience is something every successful married couple will learn sooner or later. Try these suggestions to cultivate patience in your relationship:
1. When you feel a surge of anger, pause for a moment and let the anger go away. Try to hold back your anger until you are calm and cool. Think about the consequences of your harsh words on your partner.
2. In order to avoid unwanted arguments with your spouse, get away for a while and let the situation cool down. Act with patience and maturity.
3. To make your partner feel comfortable while communicating with you, it is important that you listen to them with patience. Hear out what they have to say about the situation and then act accordingly instead of impatiently making a decision.
4. Take some time alone. Let yourself and your partner have some quality time dedicated to you both so that your stress levels are reduced.
Studies show people who are patient towards their married life tend to have better mental health as compared to those who act out in frustration.

G & A ROOFING
our disposal. But patience is a skill that we need to continually cultivate. If you need to work on being more patient, work on cultivating it with these ideas:
1. Slow Down
When you catch yourself speeding through life, take action and slow down. Drive the speed limit and watch how others rush past you. Be spontaneous and take the long drive home to enjoy the journey.
2. Take a Deep Breath
If you catch yourself facing adversity, allow yourself the space to take a step back and to take a deep breath. Consciously choose how you react to the situation at hand by shifting your perception; try to look at the bigger picture. It’s only a bump in time, not a forever.
3. Practice Gratitude
Take the time each day to practice gratitude. By making a list of 5 things you are grateful for from your day, you will start to see the gifts and synchronicities that come your way. By practicing gratitude, you can begin to see that everything is interconnected, and when faced with adversity you start to look at it as a learning opportunity rather than a “problem.”
GROWTH THINK DIFFERENTLY
In a fast-paced world where instant gratification is the norm, patience is a valuable skill that can improve mental well-being and overall quality of life. Learning to be patient helps reduce stress, improves decision-making, and enhances relationships. But how can you develop this essential trait?
1. Practice Mindfulness and Deep Breathing
Mindfulness helps you stay present and focused instead of
feeling anxious about the future. When you find yourself growing impatient, take a deep breath, pause, and observe your thoughts without reacting. Deep breathing slows your heart rate and calms your nervous system, helping you regain control.
2. Reframe Your Perspective
Impatience often stems from unrealistic expectations. Instead of seeing delays or obstacles as frustrations, try to view them as
opportunities for growth. Ask yourself, “Will this matter in a week, month or year?” Shifting your mindset can help you handle situations with greater ease.
3.
Develop a Gratitude Practice
Focusing on what you have rather than what you lack can naturally increase patience. Keeping a gratitude journal or simply taking a moment each day to appreciate small blessings can help cultivate a more patient and positive outlook on life.
4. Engage in Activities That Require Patience
Hobbies such as gardening, painting, or puzzles encourage patience by requiring focus and persistence. These activities train your mind to slow down and embrace the process rather than rushing toward a result.
5. Set Realistic Goals and Expectations
Recognize that progress takes time. Whether you’re working on personal growth, a fitness goal, or a career milestone, remind yourself that meaningful achievements require patience and consistency.

AAA SENIOR PLACEMENT AZ
A Message from Sue Royer
“I was born and raised in inner city Chicago, the sixth of eighteen children with fifteen brothers. Being the oldest daughter, I was always a caregiver which I believe influenced me to pursue work in the healthcare industry. Today, I have three daughters and five grandchildren.
Years ago, I volunteered for hospice and knew immediately that helping seniors was my calling. I was soon employed by hospice but I felt something was missing. I realized it was the limited time I was able to spend with my clients. Having my own business allows me to provide the intimate hands on service needed in our community. I am committed to our seniors throughout their lives and I thank the community for the opportunity to serve.”
