“WE
RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS!”
With the constant stream of perfect images and depictions of success on social media, it’s easy for people to feel motivated and inspired to pursue their dreams. However, when faced with failures or challenges, it’s all too common to give up and feel confused and depressed. Social media create the illusion of instant success, leading us to expect immediate results. We must understand that achieving our goals takes time, patience, planning, and resilience. Most importantly, we must truly believe in ourselves. As I always tell the younger generation, “You are golden! Believe in yourself and know that you are capable of greatness.” This belief in oneself requires constant nurturing.
Social media platforms are simply a tool that can be used in many ways. While it can be a source of inspiration, it can also be harmful to our mental well-being. There’s so much pressure to constantly improve, achieve more, and be successful. In the midst of this pressure, we often forget to live in the present moment, be still, and control our own thoughts and what we digest. Social media only shows the highlights and successes of others, creating an unreasonable depiction of reality. Instead, we should adopt the mindset of never giving up, continuously trying, and believing in ourselves. We must nurture our own greatness.
In this special issue, we took our own advice and surrounded ourselves with passionate women who conquer their goals every day. These women use social media to inspire and nurture others through their businesses, designs, and lifestyles. From the ladies of Milk & Cookies Kids Spa & Salon to Posh Tomboy The Brand and Push for Progress, we found endless inspiration for this special edition. So, I hope you enjoy this issue and feel inspired to conquer your own goals, knowing that you are truly golden.
