KATIE WILHELM (Deck Stage Manager) is thrilled to be part of another fantastic show! Favorite Fulton moments include the Great High-Five Train in Kinky Boots, giving the Bobs clear in Jersey Boys, “fixing” a headset with Dana in Man of La Mancha, randomly running spot on so many shows, and surviving countless incounters with the Fulton bats. My eternal gratitude to Amy Amspacher and the Fulton Angels, without whom I could not do my job. Love to Mom, Dad, and Paul.
WILLIAM F. BROWN (Book) won a Tony nomination and a Drama Desk Award for writing the book of The Wiz, one of the most successful musicals ever to come to Broadway and the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical of the Year. Other Broadway credits include The Girl in the Freudian Slip (author); New Faces of 1968 (head writer); and A Broadway Musical (book). Off-Broadway and in regional theatre, Bill wrote the books for other critically-acclaimed musicals, including How to
Steal an Election, Damon’s Song, Twist and The Nutley Papers. He was head writer for A Salute to Those Who Served, a two-hour musical event with a cast of over 200, held in Washington, D.C. at the dedication of the Korean War Veterans Memorial. In revue, he was a steady contributor of sketches and lyrics to nine of the prestigious Julius Monk Revues in Manhattan and Chicago. His many other revues included Coconuts at the Coconut Grove complex in Miami, Straight Up With A Twist, and Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know at Lucille Lortel’s White Barn Theatre in Westport, CT. His 100-plus TV credits included Jackie Gleason’s American Scene Magazine, That Was the Week That Was, As the World Turns, Love American Style, Max Liebman CBS Specials, World War II: G.I. Diary, Spies and many others. Joan Rivers was indebted to him for special material, as were Georgie Kaye, Joey Foreman, Leslie Gore and Joel Grey, for whom Brown created one of his four produced TV pilots. He wrote the book and lyrics for about 100 industrial shows, films, and videos for all over, from Ford to Dupont to State Farm to Pepsi Cola. He was a syndicated cartoonist with the comic strip Boomer, and wrote and illustrated five books of his own, as well as illustrating six others. He also served as president of the Theatre Artists Workshop of Westport.
CHARLIE SMALLS (Music & Lyrics) a musical prodigy, began playing piano at age three. After graduating from The Juilliard School in 1961, he began a varied performing and composing career. He was a pianist with the New York Jazz Repertory Company and toured with Harry Belafonte, Hugh Masekela and others. Smalls began working on The Wiz in 1970, dedicating three years to completing the score. The Wiz opened on Broadway in 1975 and Smalls won two Tony Awards, for music and lyrics. He also wrote the score for the 1976 film Drum. Charlie Smalls died in Belgium at age 43 during emergency appendicitis surgery.

The Fulton Theatre Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Committee recognizes the presence of social injustice, and systemic racism in the theatre and arts. We are committed to amplifying and celebrating the voices and perspectives of BIPOC in our arts community and beyond. We will build relationships and foster inclusiveness by taking an intersectional approach to diversifying our programming, artists, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
