Welcome new members!
Dear Colleagues,
As we approach the end of another year, I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for your unwavering commitment and dedication to our profession and to improving the lives of those we serve. This year was filled with challenges, and yet, we as a community of healthcare leaders rose to the occasion with professionalism, compassion, and resilience. Your tireless efforts did not go unnoticed, and I am continually inspired by the incredible work that that you do each and every day.
Our biggest challenge was responding to the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene and the devastating impact on the people of western North Carolina. I personally witnessed the outpouring of love and support to those impacted by many of you and the organizations you represent Many of your efforts continue as those communities struggle to heal, rebuild and get back to a sense of normalcy. As we enter the season of giving, keep those communities top of mind.
For our colleagues still working in those areas, please reach out to me or any of our board members if you need anything You, your colleagues and your families are in our thoughts & prayers
Another challenge has been the evolving healthcare landscape, some of which was fueled by political realities at the state and federal levels. There have been a lot of headlines this past year. Throughout, I have yet to hear of any organizations changing their mission and vision statements in response. Instead, we as a profession continue to adjust strategies and approaches but keep our focus on the reasons we entered our profession - our true north. We will continue to make strides in improving patient outcomes, enhancing access to care, advancing medical research and technology, and advocating for those without a voice As we reflect on the past year and look ahead to the future, let us continue to work together to advance our profession through active membership in ACHE and THEF.
We owe it to our profession and those we serve to stay informed through lifelong learning, fostering leadership excellence and to develop our future healthcare leaders.
Witnessing the incredible work and leadership of our THEF members this past year has filled me with great pride
In the coming months, I will be transitioning from the THEF President role as Matt Gitzinger, FACHE takes over as the new leader. I have had the please of working with Matt over the past several years - he is an inspiration leader, highly engaged in our society and someone I am proud to call a friend. You will be hearing more from Matt in the coming weeks as he works with the board to plan for the coming year.
Thank you for all your support, outstanding leadership, dedication to healthcare excellence, and your unwavering commitment to making a difference. I am honored to work alongside each and every one of you, and I look forward to the incredible achievements that we will accomplish together in the year ahead
Wishing you all a happy and restful holiday season, and cheers to a successful and fulfilling new year!
ANTRUM, DNP, RN, FACHE REGENT FOR NORTH CAROLINA
Hello wonderful colleagues!
The holiday season is quickly coming upon us!
This is a great time of year to reflect on what you are thankful for. What's your source of gratitude?
Thank you to our Veterans who protect our freedom! Your sacrifice is seen, felt, and cherished. I know many of you exercised your right to vote. I'm grateful to live in a country where we have that right to exercise.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this amazing community of healthcare leaders through ACHE.
Together, our impact reaches far and wide, improving the health and wellbeing of our friends, neighbors, communities, and nation. I applaud our regulatory compliance agencies' efforts to ensure health equity and the eradicating of disparities that exist. I am grateful to do work that I love with people I enjoy. I am especially thankful for my family who supports me through thick and thin.
During this season of giving, I want to encourage each of you to give generously of your time, talents, and treasure. You have so much to offer someone new to the profession or to your chapter. You can make a lasting impact through philanthropy by investing in the next generation of leaders through the ACHE Fund for Innovation. I give to this cause because I desire a lasting legacy that demonstrates someone who wanted to leave the world a better place than when I came.
I want to transition to a tough topic: As a gift to yourself and your family, consider creating an advanced care plan so they know your wishes in advance. Several years ago, my husband and I lost his 40year old brother very unexpectedly to a food allergy. Our tomorrow is not guaranteed. Facing our mortality can be daunting and having an advanced care plan is one of the kindest things you can do for your loved ones.
This holiday season, some will celebrate time with family and friends I hope that reflects your situation! Let's not forget that this season can bring sorrow to those who have experienced loss. Let's take extra care to check in on each other and provide support!
Thank you for everything that you do to care for so many! The very fabric of our society depends on us doing this sacred work every single day. Your work is allowing so many families to have another holiday celebration this year and that is the most priceless gift of all!
In service to you, Vi
