The Academies: K-Prep 4 through 5th Grade

3D Printing - In this class we will explore 3D printing! Students will learn how to use Tinkercad to create and print flower pot, cup or mug. They will draw a plan for their design, create the pieces in Tinkercad, and then print out their item on our very own TFA 3D printers (If time allows we may design other pieces). They will come away with a fun and new object that they designed!

Agility Academy - Agility Academy is an exciting and fun group for 2nd to 5th graders, focused on boosting speed, quickness, and agility through playful drills and activities Each session includes games and activities that improve footwork, coordination, and reaction time, helping young athletes grow their skills. Along with the physical fun, we’ll also gather for a short Bible devotion, where kids can learn valuable lessons about faith, teamwork, and perseverance Agility Academy provides a positive, faith-filled environment where kids can stay active, have fun, and build both their athletic abilities and their relationship with God

Archery - Come check out what Archery is all about! In Archery, you will start shooting from 10 yards and learn the basics first: parts of the bow and arrow, steps of shooting, whistle commands, and safety regulations. After the basics are covered, arrow firing begins! All skill levels are welcome. A certified USA Archery instructor will be helping students each week.

Ballet and Movement (Year-Round) - We are excited to welcome back Miss Abby Williamson to lead The Academies Ballet classes this year! Miss Abby provides a professional, artistic, and fun learning environment for all ages and levels Your child will learn elements of ballet to help improve their strength, flexibility, range of motion, coordination, and balance. Ballet and Movement class runs from August 18, 2025 through May 8, 2026, and will end in a showcase for parents to attend on May 11, 2026.

Cost: $340 per semester (1st Semester payment is for 8/18/25 - 12/8/25. Spring payment, including a showcase fee, will be due in January)

Beginner Golf - Join Coach Daniel from the Brian Davis Golf Academy for a fun and encouraging introduction to golf! This beginner-level class is perfect for students who are new to the sport and want to learn the basics in a supportive environment. Each session will focus on developing fundamental skills like grip, stance, swing, and putting—all while building confidence and a love for the game. No prior experience needed!

Board Game Buddies - A fun after school class for TK-1st graders, where students get to explore and play a variety of board games! Each week, kids will try out different types of games, from simple matching and memory games to interactive adventure and strategy games, all designed to suit their age and abilities The class encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and social skills as they play together, take turns, and enjoy learning new games It's a great way for kids to bond, have fun, and discover the joy of board games!

Building Grit - What does it take to persevere when life gets tough? How do some people keep going through failure, frustration, and fear while others give up? The answer is grit In this class, you'll explore what grit really means and how to cultivate it as a powerful character trait. Through interactive games, inspiring activities, and practical projects, you'll learn how to develop perseverance, mental resilience, and a growth mindset. Whether you ' re facing academic challenges, personal goals, or professional setbacks, grit will become your secret weapon Join us and start building the determination and resilience you need to push through obstacles and thrive

Ceramics - It’s a Sugar Rush! Students will explore hand building and glazing techniques to create 3 “Sweet Ceramic Sculptures”! They will gain understanding of our walk with the Potter while working with Clay, as well as witness the kiln firing process, relating it to the ‘refining fire’ of the Holy Spirit

Cheerleading - Go Royals! Cheerleaders will develop their current skill set by learning proper motions and technique, jumps, cheers, dance, and basic stunt techniques Those enrolled will be cheering at the LS Football Night and walking in the Homecoming Parade! Girls will receive a LS Cheer shirt, cheer bow, and set of pom poms to keep in their Cheer Package. This class is 8-weeks.

Chess Class - A virtual chess class by Rookly Chess, designed to develop a rich chess culture and an outlet for students to play recreationally or even competitively Chess classes will teach you to carefully plan and execute your moves, develop critical thinking and decision-making skills, and deepen friendships!

The Rookly Chess League opens the door for all students to participate in scholastic chess. No travel, no hassle—the matches are through Rookly’s online platform, featuring integrated video and a live

leaderboard Compete alongside 100-plus schools across the country, including Horace Mann, Riverdale, Seacrest Country Day, and many others The matches are open to students in 2nd through 8th grade. Students do not have to be a part of Chess Class to participate on the Chess Team.

Futsal - D2 Futsal’s objective is to provide high-quality futsal training to children interested in improving their soccer skills while also having fun. Futsal is a dynamic form of soccer, highly recommended for both novice and experienced players who wish to enhance their abilities and game understanding Their teaching methodology is based on ecological dynamics, where we focus on developing players' ability to read the game and improve their decision-making skills to effectively solve the challenges that arise during play. The importance of life values, teamwork, resilience, and discipline are emphasized in the program.

Introduction to Coding - Students will grow their problem-solving abilities, creativity, and project management skills through participation in this engaging class In this leveled program, students will be able to develop their skill set in principles of programming, including algorithms and logic, no matter what their knowledge base is. Students will also write and test their own codes.

Krafty Kitchen - Calling all young chefs and creative minds! In this fun and hands-on class, kids will explore the magic of combining art and cooking. Using edible materials, they’ll craft delicious masterpieces while learning to safely handle basic kitchen tools. It's a perfect blend of imagination and tasty fun plus, they’ll get to enjoy their beautiful creations at the end!

Little Medical School - God created the human body and cares about you greatly! Learn all about the different parts of your body and how they work together ‘Little Medical School’ gives you the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge that is practical and super cool

Lower School Choir (Year-Round) - Do you love to sing? Do you want to share your voice with others? If so, join the Lower School Choir and become a part of a musical family! The Lower School Choir is for students who have a passion for singing and learning new songs. You will meet one day a week (either Tuesday or Thursday before school) with Mrs. Savage, the LS Music teacher, and practice your vocal skills and harmony. You will also have the chance to perform at various events throughout the school year and showcase your talent to your family and community. The Lower School Choir is a fun and rewarding experience that will help you grow as a singer and a person Don’t miss this opportunity to join the Lower School Choir and make some beautiful music together! Lower School Volleyball League - Our Lower School Volleyball League is back! We are excited to continue partnering with other local schools for the fall Practice will be held once per week on Thursday mornings in the Cramer Family Field House at TFA. Games will also be once per week, at rotating locations. Lower School Volleyball games will be Mondays after school, with the exception of Labor Day week, where the game will be on Tuesday. Please note that students who register for the Fall LS Volleyball League will get priority when registering for the Spring LS Volleyball League

Music Makers - Get ready to sing, play, and move in this high-energy music class! Your little one will explore his or her singing voice, experiment with different instruments such as shakers, sticks, drums, bells, tambourines, and follow the rhythm of the music through whole-body movement. Children will experience creative fun with props such as scarves, elastic bands, and parachutes to explore melody, rhythm, and phrasing This engaging curriculum builds on your child’s natural movement, helping strengthen the muscles they need to walk, run, climb, and develop coordination—all while having fun with music!

Pickleball - DR Pickleball Program builds real sports skills and values through fun, energetic instruction. Students develop their abilities while gaining a deeper understanding of the game. Beginners will learn the basics: drives, serving, volleys, dinks, and scoring through exciting games that build coordination and confidence

Advanced players will sharpen their technique, improve footwork, and apply strategy in fast-paced match play, developing a deeper understanding and love for the game

Robotics Club - VEX GO: Engineering Fun for Young Innovators! VEX GO is an exciting, hands-on STEM program designed for elementary school students in after-school academies This construction system introduces the fundamentals of engineering, coding, and problem-solving through engaging, collaborative activities. With easy-to-use snap-together pieces and interactive challenges, VEX GO helps young learners build confidence in STEM while fostering creativity, teamwork, and a love for innovation!

Strategic Gaming - Get ready to think, plan, and play! In this exciting class, kids will dive into the colorful worlds of Azul, Qwirkle, and other award-winning strategy games that challenge the mind and spark creativity. Each class offers a chance to build skills like critical thinking, pattern recognition, and decision-making all while having a blast with friends! Whether your child is a seasoned gamer or a curious beginner, they'll walk away with sharper thinking skills and some new favorite games

Year-Round: Upfield Soccer - Year-Round Program starting August 20th and 21st - a K-Prep 4 and Kindergarten soccer clinic designed for those parents looking for a fun and non-competitive soccer-focused extracurricular activity to add to their little one ’ s schedule. Clinics are delivered in an environment designed to ensure that kids have fun, but also learn skills along the way!

First Fridays Lacrosse (Open to 3rd - 8th Graders) - Join Varsity Coach Reed Reynolds for one hour on the first Friday of each month to sharpen your lacrosse skills. Come for just as many weeks as you can - or all five sessions! All skill levels are welcome and no equipment is needed. First Fridays Lacrosse is held on the Lower School field

Soccer Clinics - Join Coach Mark for a fun and engaging soccer clinics designed to help players build their skills, improve teamwork, and grow their love for the game! Each session will include drills focused on footwork, passing, shooting, and game awareness, with age-appropriate instruction in a positive and encouraging environment. Whether your child is new to soccer or looking to sharpen their abilities, Coach Mark’s clinics are the perfect opportunity to grow as a player while having a great time on the field

Music: Private Lessons - The private music instructors are here to help TFA students achieve their musical goals! They offer a broad array of music classes in which they challenge our students to reach their full musical potential Our instructors teach these individual music classes using the teaching methods that best suit the student’s learning style and experience. Choose from the following instruments: piano, voice, guitar, drum and more!

Tennis: Private Lessons - Elite Tennis Academy is now offering private (one-on-one) tennis lessons to TFA Lower School students! Lessons are packaged in various formats. Please see the registration website for options.
