Although DAL Academies are designed specifically for students in the Distinct Abilities Learning Program, students in the DAL program may participate in appropriate Lower School Academies programs with prior approval. DAL Academies:

Cooking - In this culinary class we will be educating students in various cooking methods, instructing them in proper food preparation techniques, and leading safe and sanitary cleanup practices. Students who participate will use hot or sharp equipment and work with potential allergens (nuts, gluten, sugar, dairy) and raw ingredients, including poultry and seafood.

Cost: $140 + $15 Supply Fee

Game On! - This inclusive after-school sports program is designed to provide students with a safe, supportive, and fun environment to engage in physical activity. The program focuses on promoting physical fitness, social interaction, teamwork, and self-confidence through adapted sports and games that meet the unique needs and abilities of each participant

Wednesdays, 3-4 pm

Location: Kids 1-2 Courtyard at First Orlando

Cost: $140

Sugar Spice, and Sensory Nice (Baking) - Get ready to mix, knead, and sprinkle your way through this fun and hands-on after-school activity! In Sensory Baking, kids explore the world of baking using all five senses — touching dough, smelling yummy ingredients, hearing things sizzle, seeing recipes come to life, and of course, tasting their delicious creations. We’ll make simple treats while building fine motor skills, working together, and having fun. It’s creative, calming, and super tasty!

Thursdays, 3-4 pm

Cost: $140 + $15 Supply Fee

Tennis - DAL’s Adaptive Tennis program provides students with unique needs the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of tennis in a supportive and encouraging environment Using modified equipment and individualized instruction, students build coordination, confidence, and social skills while having fun on the court. This program focuses on promoting physical activity, teamwork, and a love of the game, with activities tailored to meet each child’s unique abilities.

Wednesdays, 3:20-4:20 pm

Cost: $150

S.H.E. (Strong. Honest. Empowered) - This weekly group is designed for teen girls who want to deepen their relationship with God while building practical life skills that prepare them for the real world. Each session includes a short devotional, open discussion, and hands-on activities. Topics include identity in Christ, friendships & peer pressure, time management & goal setting, emotional health & self-worth, basic budgeting & money habits, communication & leadership skills and faith in action through service projects.

DAL Academies: Private Lessons

Art: Private Lessons - We are excited to offer private art lessons with Mrs. Moseler!

Offerings include:

-3D Printing -Drawing

-Acrylic Painting -Master Artists Lesson / Watercolor Painting -Printmaking -Oil Painting (Middle and High school only, 60 min)

-Photography -Other art assistance, except clay.

After registration, Mrs. Moseler will be in contact with you to set up a time that is convenient for both of your schedules.

Cost: $40/30-minute lessons; $80/60-minute lessons

Ceramics: Private Lessons - We are excited to offer private ceramics lessons with Mrs. Collins! Whether you want to learn to throw a pot on the Potter's Wheel, or make coil, slab, or pinch sculptures, you will find some fun with clay. Or maybe you need help assembling a portfolio for a job or college interview, learn how to show off your work! After registration, Mrs Collins will be in contact with you to set up a time that is convenient for both of your schedules

Tennis: Private Lessons - Elite Tennis Academy is now offering private (one-on-one) tennis lessons to DAL students! Lessons are packaged in various formats Please see the registration website for options.
