A Community Empowered by the Arts
Getting the Most Out of Your Experience
Making the most of your arts investment is an important goal. To assist you in doing so, we encourage the following:
1.Meet your child's teacher and develop a rapport. Build a partnership that leads to lasting success for your student.
2.Demonstrate a positive attitude about their arts education. If you value it, they will too.
3.Help your child prepare. Make sure they practice and set time aside to prepare each week. Growth requires discipline. The arts provide a perfect training ground for developing this essential life skill.
4.Ask for help if you think your child may need it. Every child learns differently. You know more about your child then your teacher does. Let the teacher know your concerns.
If you feel that the class or teacher are not the right fit, we urge you to follow the steps as outlined below.
1.You or your child attend at least three classes as a full participant.
2.As a parent, you observe at least one class.
3.You attempt weekly communication with your child's teacher about the class, its objectives, and how to make the most of the class for you and your child.
4.After those prerequisites have been met and you still are concerned about you or your child's progress, you may request a meeting with the teacher, department director (as applies) and the CEO. After that conversation, the student may be requested to join to give them a chance to detail their concerns.
We hope that these opportunities to discover and communicate lead to the best possible outcomes for you, your child, and the teacher.

• The FAA Dance Program offers Early Childhood, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, and Hip Hop.
• We welcome dancers as they are and at any level, age, and experience. Utilizing these guiding factors, dancers are placed with intention to ensure safety, achievement, and enjoyment. Students are evaluated annually to continue proper placement relative to program, dancer, and family goals.
• Our youngest dancers (ages 3-4) are offered combination classes of ballet/tap/jazz to explore movement and learn spatial awareness. Beginner level dancers (ages 5-9) are offered classes in all of the dance forms allowing them a foundation in the basic vocabulary and kinesiology.
• Dancers studying in the upper-level classes will develop technical proficiency, style and performance qualities and an overall understanding of the many paths they can pursue dance.
• Overall, no matter the age, we provide a safe space for students, to learn, express, grow, unite and have fun.
Dance Companies
• Edge, Verge and Emerge are FAA's three-tiered dance companies. Dancers audition to join. These dancers will have the opportunity to experience competitions, conventions and many performance opportunities throughout the region.

PRIVATE MUSIC INSTRUCTION
Recital opportunities
• The Fine Arts Association provides regular opportunities for music students to perform in music showcase recitals. Music showcase recitals are free, and the community is welcome! If you are a music student interested in participating in a music showcase recital, please communicate with your Fine Arts instructor.
Suzuki Instruction
• Dr. Shinichi Suzuki began to teach music by applying the basic principles of learning language. When learning a language, one listens, speaks, reads and writes, in that order. In the Suzuki approach, the student listens, plays, then reads and writes. Call Customer Experience at (440) 951-7500 for more information.
Adapted Lessons
• Available to any student regardless of age or ability: Our music therapists are available to provide an introduction to independent music lessons, help determine preference for select instruments, teach general music concepts in an engaging way, and foster a love of music learning for even the littlest maestro! Please call for more information and to learn more about our early childhood programming. Contact Ann Marie Raddell, Director of Creative Arts Therapies, at (440) 951-7500 x124 or araddell@fineartsassociation.org for adapted music lessons for children through adults.
FAA has over 500 students of all ages who take private music lessons per year.

Helpful Art Department Information:
A perfect start to art with Early Childhood Classes
A wonderful place to develop creativity, coordination, cognitive, and multisensory skills. A variety of class options are available for children ranging from 2-6 years old. This applies to ALL visual art classes.

Adult Ceramics and Clay Studio(adult) have an additional clay fee of $15 per bag. Clay can be purchased at Customer Experience. Note: Onlyceramicsprojectscompletedon-siteduringclassatTheFineArtsAssociation willbefiredusingFAAequipment.
Creative Painting & Drawing, Art Club and Focus on Drawing Classes
All art classes can be taken repeatedly by the same student; artists will strengthen skills each session. Classes are all numbered based on age not skill.

A Message from our Chief Executive Officer Paul Holm
An experience in the arts is like no other. At once, creativity, perseverance, empathy, deliberation, growth, dedication, contemplation, discovery, and community coexist. The arts make us better humans: better able to explore, express, question, think critically, and appreciate the beauty within and around us. At The Fine Arts Association, we are privileged to partner with you to create and discover art and all of these other human attributes under one roof. The possibilities are endless. No matter your age, experience, or aptitude, there is space here for you to create and grow.
