Definitely an exceptional, one-of-a-kind gelding here. He’s roped thousands in the branding pen, in the feedlot as well as outside in a lot of different terrain. He’s the go-to horse to sort on and load semis, he’s roping on the heel side, he’s got a lot of heart and is a serious athlete. He’s the one I ride when the kids come to work as I know I can handle anything on him that arises. When my wife goes out alone on this gelding I know he will bring her home no matter what. She’s also learning how to team rope on him with the switch and he puts her where she needs to be every time. Our kids go out to catch, brush and saddle him, he’s a kind hearted gelding for sure.

Big Country is a 7-year-old, 15.2 grade gelding quarter horse that has been the “go to” horse for the past several years. Just like his name implies, he has seen plenty of big country. Big Country has trailed cows to the mountains, gathered wild cows from the Wind River Indian range, and been used extensively to doctor calves, tag calves, and sort pairs. He is a solid rope horse that has been used for competitive ranch rodeos and ranch ropings, he has been used both by us and lent out to others for brandings and ranch rodeos. He runs hard to cows and he holds solid at the end of the rope. He rides smooth and eats up the country. Big Country is a great asset to our ranch and will be missed.
