Archives Class Shields Offer a Glimpse Into History The tradition of creating a class shield to honor the contributions of graduating student-athletes dates back to the Class of 1907. Much like the Class of 2021, (pictured on the back cover), many classes designed their shields to showcase historic school and world events that the class experienced together. Today, class shields adorn the halls of the Dixon Athletic Center and remind students of the many alumni who share in their commitment to live the Stripes of Respect, Courage, and Sportsmanship, both on and off the field.
