LIVE YOUR T.R.U.T.H.
By: Carla R. Cannon-Lawrence, The Trailblazer
Living an authentic life means aligning your actions, values, and beliefs with your true self. It's about being genuine, embracing your uniqueness, and confidently expressing who you are. When we bring authenticity into both our personal and professional lives, we unlock a powerful source of fulfillment and success. As a Life & Business Coach, I have experienced times when I felt pressured to not show up as my authentic self, which is a woman of faith who is also apart of the LGBT community. I struggled most of my life with feeling as if something was wrong with me and did my best to suppress those emotions to make other people feel comfortable.
Not living my truth led to struggles with depression and two suicide attempts. Finally I had enough and decided that I wanted to live and began doing the inner work to heal, which led to intense therapy, and really seeking God in a personal way. Through this process is when I made the decision to divorce religion and refocus on my personal relationship with God. Trust me, the struggle was real but it all led me to where and who I am today.
Wherever you may currently find yourself in your personal or professional life, know that the world can handle the authentic you. Better yet, the world needs the authentic you! The million dollar question then becomes, but how does one walk in true authenticity? I am going to share what I teach my daughter as well as my clients.
PAGE 18
www.CarlaCannon.com
Truth
The real you was created for a reason therefore, walk in your truth and allow your inner child to shine brightly like the star they were created to be.
Resilience
You are much stronger than you realize. You have overcame many battles in life, so when life gets tough remember how you made it through before and revisit the resume of God that reminds you that He has never failed you before and He won’t start now.
Understanding
Know that everyone won’t get you and that’s okay, but as long as you are able to leave this earth knowing that you gave it everything you had and was being you while doing it, that’s where your legacy lies.
Timing
No one can tell you when it’s time to shift things in your life; you will know. When you give yourself permission to sit with yourself and truly assess how you are doing mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically then you can determine what are the next steps that are needed for you to feel whole, complete and fulfilled.
PAGE 19
Hunger
Do you know how I began to heal? I became hungry for peace, for joy, and genuine laughter. I was tired of putting on a smile while I was dying inside. I was stuck on autopilot but then when I hit rock bottom to the point where I wanted to talk my life and it was my spouse who God used to save my life, I knew then I had to make a decision. Sure, I wondered if my business would succeed being that most of my clients were women of faith but even that was no longer a burden I was willing to carry. By the way, my businesses have continued to flourish for over a decade and by sharing my truth it led to another business venture with my spouse that is making a huge impact in the LGBT Community.
With that said, living your authentic life is a transformative journey that requires self-reflection, vulnerability, and self- acceptance. By incorporating authenticity into your personal and professional life, you create a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and genuine connection with others.
Embrace your uniqueness, honor your values, and encourage others to do the same. Remember, authenticity is not about being perfect, but about being true to you. Embrace the power of living authentically, and watch as it positively impacts both your personal and professional success.

Celebrate JUNETEENTH
Monday, June 19, 2023
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is a significant holiday celebrated on June 19th each year in the United States. It commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and recognizes the moment when news of their freedom reached the last remaining enslaved individuals in Texas in 1865, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. Juneteenth stands as a symbol of resilience, hope, and the ongoing fight for equality and justice. It serves as a time for reflection, education, and celebration of African American culture, history, and achievements. The holiday has gained increased recognition and prominence in recent years, highlighting the importance of acknowledging and understanding the legacy of slavery while striving for a more inclusive and equitable society. Today, we celebrate the recognition of the day as a federal holiday for the first time in history!
