Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, Micheldever
by TheDever
continued to develop friendships. She was genuinely interested in others and always had time for people. Over the years Rosemary was also blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom she was very proud and I’m sure they have many memories of tea and cake in the afternoon, Christmas lunches, birthdays and Easter egg hunts in the garden amongst others. Rosemary also lost her beloved son Kit in 2009, such a terrible loss for a mother to bear but she had her family and friends and her faith to comfort and support her and recently we spoke about heaven and how she would be re united with all her departed family and friends. And now if you don’t mind, I would like to share one of my favourite memories with you. I would have been about three, if that. It was on bonfire night and mum and I were in the kitchen. She was feeding me chips in my high chair to console me (I won’t go into the details as it’s not relevant), but what strikes me is that as we were watching the fire works going off in our back garden, she was looking after and comforting one of her children and not at the party! Having shared that with you I’d like to ask you to take a moment to think about your favourite memory of Rosemary, or what you admired or liked best about her and hang onto that thought while we pay our respects and say goodbye.
