Just though you all should know about the email I received today. I have zero intention in resigning. Bryan Shoemaker Cell Begin forwarded message: From: Ray Crump < Date: January 31, 2018 at 3:53:02 PM EST To: Subject: taxpayers watchdog group We represent a group of Groveport taxpayers and Groveport School supporters. We believe that all Board of Education members must be of high moral and ethical character as well as having the financial forethought to move our district forward. We do not believe you fit that profile. For months we have had knowledge that you have abused your power as the President/member of the GM board of education to gain financially from the District. We have made 2 public records requests and are ready to make more to get at the TRUTH. So far our inquiries have shown the following:
1. You ordered/coerced/intimidated employees (both current and past employees) into doing work on facilities that benefited you. You ordered GM employees to do work while you were an officer in GMYA as well as ordering work done on fields while your men's league team was playing baseball. There was a financial cost to the district each time you did this. If not for your position on the Board of Education this work would not have been done. Have you reimburssed the district for the hundreds maybe thousands of dollars work? 2. You removed steel shelving from the school district without knowledge of the Board, Superintendent or Treasuer of the School District. After removing this material for use at your now bankrupt business you failed to pay the district for the material removed. You paid for the material only after our public records request. We believe that without our public records request you would never had paid for these materials.
3. According to our records obtained from the District you did not pay even close to the fair market value for the materials taken. A Board of education member cannot legally use his position for financial gain such as you did in this case.
4. Since our records show that the whole Board of education was never made aware of you taking these materials, it is our conclusion that you were again using your power in the position to hide this removal of items from the public.
This is a short outline of the information we have obtained to this point. We as a group are GREAT supporters of the GM school district. We do not want to see this District go downhill based in the bad decisions/behavior of one board member. We believe that the right thing for you to do is to resign your seat on the Board of education before others in community find out about this information. Our watchdog activities will not end with you resignation, but our inquirers into your behavior will end. Our next steps without your resignation by E.e_~ru.~ry.~! ,2_q.~~:
1. Send all information we have uncovered to the full Board of Education, the Superintendent, and the Treasurer of the District. 2. Report to the Ohio Ethics commission your behavior, the result being an open investigation by that government body. 3. Send all information we have uncovered to Rick Palsgrove, Janet Theide, and Bill Bush from the Columbus Dispatch.
4. Continue digging into what other employees (past and present) know about your actions through the continued use of the Public Records Law.
