Plant Metallurgist

Manuka Resources owns and operates the Mt Boppy Gold Mine and the Wonawinta Project located in the Cobar region of central NSW. The Process Plant based at our Wonawinta site utilises conventional crushing, grinding and elution technology to produce gold doré from the Mt Boppy open cut mine.

We are currently seeking a Plant Metallurgist to join our team. As a Plant Metallurgist, you will play a key role in ensuring the day-to-day plant performance meets production KPIs and maintain the integrity of metallurgical accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Be proactive in identifying and reporting potential hazards and eliminating risk taking behaviours or actions.

• Demonstrate behaviours aligned with our Mining values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability and Respect.

• Monitor and report plant metallurgical performance under guidance of the Senior Metallurgist.

• Develop and carryout metallurgical test work and plant trials that are aimed at improving efficiencies and/or costs and provide technical reports on the findings and recommendations.

• Complete daily, weekly and monthly metallurgical accounting and reporting.

• Monitor and ensure that key plant operating parameters remain within target.

• Monitor and ensure that consumption of process consumables remain in line with budget.

• Provide professional, technical advice to mine site personnel as required in a timely manner.

About you

It is important that you have/can demonstrate:

• Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Minerals Processing, or related discipline.

• Ability to work safely at all times.

• Effective computer literacy, including spread sheet and database development.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with data management and metallurgical accounting is highly regarded.
