Cobar Police Station welcomes new staff members

Cobar Police Station has welcomed the arrival of three new Senior Constables (one of which is a Highway Patrol Officer) who are now stationed in Cobar.

Senior Constable Michelle Stone and her husband, Senior Constable Brendon Falzon, a Highway Patrol Officer, have recently moved to Cobar from Tuggerah.

Senior Constable Stone was stationed at Tuggerah for the past 20 years and for four years prior to that she served at Marrickville in Sydney.

She said they were keen to move to somewhere with a “slower pace”.

“We travelled through here 12 months ago and we both went ‘wow it’s a really nice place,” Senior Constable Stone said.

They’d also met one of the local detectives who assured them Cobar was a great place and when they returned home, they started looking for transfers to Cobar.

“I’m a mum, a grandma, we’ve got a caravan and we love to travel a lot.

“We ride motorbikes and are planning on getting dirt bikes now we’ve got somewhere to ride them in Cobar.”

The third new Cobar staff member is Senior Constable Ryan Chillingworth, a familiar face.

Senior Constable Chillingworth has returned to Cobar after a three year stint at Nelson Bay.

Prior to moving to Nelson Bay, Senior Constable Chillingworth had served for five and a half years in Cobar and said he moved back to Cobar to be near family.

“We like the small community vibe here.

“Living on the coast is not all it’s cracked up to be,” he said.
