A bowls “natural”

The Golfie Twilight Bowls event on Friday night welcomed another new bowler, Kirby Roberts, who was declared “a natural” by her team mates.

Roberts got plenty of practice playing double lead for David Schofield and Tom McKeown and also the team of Marlene Wynd and John Daly.

Team Schofield could do no wrong winning both their game and the night with a score of +16!

Justin Patzwald and Sandra Zazoniuk’s five point end win half way through their game against Steve Manns and Peta Zazoniuk proved to be the ultimate undoing for Team Manns.

Team Patzwald claimed runners-up bragging rights with a score of +11.

The other game finished in a +3 win for pairs team Allan Gardoll and Mick Harvey on rink 10 against Karen Daly and Greg Clark.

Anew ladies golf competition tees off today

The 2023 Cobar Ladies Golf Season will kick off today with a Stableford game. Saturday’s round will be a Par event with an earlier start teeing off at 10am from the first tee.

The change is due to a wedding taking place in the afternoon and it just so happens that one of the lady golfers is the ‘mother of the bride’. The weather and course setting should be ideal for the nuptials.

A Stableford will be played on Sunday.

All eyes will be on Julie Livingston this season to see if she can maintain her brilliant form after cleaning up during the 2022/23 summer competition. T'd Off
