The club is officially open for the season following our annual Commissioning Ceremonies. Special thanks to Fleet Captain Slaght for honoring our members who have served our country by inviting them to be part of the color guard. It was a particularly powerful reminder of the sacrifice that our service men and women make for our nation.

At the Spring Membership Meeting on May 12, we shared a report from the Strategic Planning Committee detailing the work they have been doing over the past few years on a potential Clubhouse Improvement Project. Please take a moment to read the article in the Islander on page 5 that includes additional details. We plan to have a town hall meeting later this summer where we will share more details, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.

Coming up on June 10, Colleen and I can’t wait to honor and thank our Past Commodores for their service to the club at the annual Commodores’ Ball. This is another wonderful tradition we have at CYC, and I encourage you to attend. Make your reservation soon!

As we move into June, our docks are full, the porch is open, and Colleen and I couldn’t be more excited for the summer ahead. Our army of committee chairs and volunteers has been busy planning a summer season packed with activities. Thanks again for dedicating your time and talents to the club.
