O u r most recent open-boat cruise to Sucia and Matia was in mid A p r i l , on a sunny three-day w e e k e n d . T o w i n g o u r 16 foot Poulsbo Boat t o A n a c o r t e s , w e b o a r d e d t h e s t a t e f e r r y f o r a zig-zag r u n i n t o t h e h e a r t o f t h e S a n J u a n s , g e t t i n g off a t O r c a s a n d c o n t i n u i n g o u r d r i v e t o a launching r a m p at the n o r t h e n d of the island. ( T h e r e appear to be t w o reasonably g o o d r a m p s in the vicinity:
