O

ne of the top questions I am asked by those visiting Chicago is where should one go to brunch. It is a staple meal among young professionals, and honestly who wants to say “let’s breakfast today,” anyways? Brunch allows you to get up from the night before, go recover by drinking again, and still have time to go home and rest. Where you are from can determine the type of brunch experience you are looking for. If you are visiting with family, planning a special occasion or looking for more of a brunch + day party feel you can find it in various neighborhoods in Chicago. The following pages are a breakdown of some gems around the city by neighborhood and the type of food. This list includes some of my favorite restaurants that I used to frequent while living there. There are new places that pop up constantly so although this is a very comprehensive list, it doesn’t include everything but as a traveler to Chicago this gives you a good list of neighborhoods and variety If you need help planning your trip to Chicago or want more info, feel free to mail me at greetings@thebrittanyb.com! There is also a full Chicago Guide coming soon so be on the look out!

Logan Square Lula Café

Longman and Eagle

Son of a Butcher

A Logan Square staple since 1999, this quaint location prides itself on excellent service and crafted meals. Although the menu is a little short for some, it contains dishes such as fresh pastries, brioche, and lox plates. As a note, some items on the menus are seasonal so if it is something particular you want it would be best to give them a call.

Longman and Eagle gives patrons a “look back” in time through a new age perspective. The restaurant encompasses a main dining room, a smaller room, and off-site bar as well as a six guest rooms upstairs on it’s second floor that align with the inn theme of the overall space. In addition, Longman and Eagle also holds a 2016 Michelin Certificate of Excellence

Under the same ownership as Lakeview’s restaurant Whisk, SOB specializes in hearty food such as the Lone Star Benedict, their twist on the traditional that is topped with ribeye steak, beans, and steak sauce hollandaise. The hashes are also heavy hitters with a Tinga Hash composed of shredded chicken, chipotle sauce and queso.
