In the Men’s Advanced 8-Ball Team division, defending champion Dick’s Pick (NV) fell to their local league rival Whoa Bundy (NV) [Ray Skenandore, Brad Huffman, Al Lawrence, Jason Kane, Jim Carmona and Frank Tran] in the finals of the triple-elimination bracket! The Women’s Advanced 8-Ball Team division showcased 2013 Women’s Open Team runner-ups After Eight (FL) [Janet Smith, Flori Lehart, Michelle Jarrell and Jamie Toennies] successfully moving up a grade to take down Virginia’s’s Newtowne Inn in the deciding set of the triple-elimination format for the top honors. The Men’s Open 8-Ball Team competition went to a finals deciding set with Magic Moments (BC) [Werner Ostwald, Clay Gloslee, Jim Brown, Rob Horton and Ron Douglas] clipping Virgus Cues (TX) in the title match. The Women’s Open 8-Ball Team champions heralded from the Women of Grand Prairie League (TX) with All Mixed Up (TX) [Melinda Bailey, Courtney Evans, Janet Ybarra and Nina Stillwell] surviving a deciding set over The Four Divas (TX) for the title. Big Cowa (MN) [Sean Hendrickson, Pete Bidne, Pat Baxter, Scott Johnson, Ryan Peterson and Jason Standley] needed two sets in the Men’s Standard 8-Ball Team division final’s clash to make 8 Ball Rollin’ (NV) the bride’s maid. In the Women’s Standard 8-Ball Team division, the Women of Grand Prairie League in Texas claimed another title when Twisted Sisters (TX) [Teri Bridwell, Linda Reagan, Deborah Lopez, Christina Marks and Kerry Gallego] claimed two sets in the finals to overcome undefeated Shut Up ‘N Shoot (MN) for the crown. The 3-person 9-ball team divisions featured some of the top 8-ball team placers as well. Undefeated Whoa Bundy (NV) [Ray Skenandore, Jason Kane and Jim Carmona] needed two sets in the finals to turn back a pesky Gotta Have It (NE) team for the Men’s Advanced 9-Ball Team title. The Women of Grand Prairie League in Texas took home some more

national laurels in the Women’s Open 9-Ball Team field as All Mixed Up (TX) [Melinda Bailey, Courtney Evans, Janet Ybarra and Nina Stillwell] remained undefeated, including a one-set finals win over Newtowne 1 (VA). In the Men’s Open 9-Ball Team category, P-Noize (VA) [Nilbert Lim, Reymart Lim and Reyjen Carmona] lost its third match in the A-side and then reeled off nine consecutive sets to capture this title over Griffith Billiards (IN)! In the 10th Annual ACS National Artistic Pool Championships, Dustin Gunia of Omaha, NE added his third national title of the week, outpointing a packed field of entries. ACS would like to especially thank our title sponsor – Universal Cues, as well as Gary Benson and his tournament direction staff at High Country Promotions, as well as the exhibiting vendors and the host site – the Tropicana Las Vegas! The Universal Cues ACS Nationals is already looking forward to returning to the Tropicana May 9-15, 2015, and has signed a contract for the Tropicana to host the event through 2017 ! The ACS is a national non-profit, membergoverned association which will sanction any local pool league (whether player-run or owner-operated) via a $10 annual sanction fee. The ACS currently sanctions leagues in 38 states and enjoys reciprocal relations with its sister organization in Canada (Canadian Cue Sport Association – CCS). Twelve state associations are affiliated to ACS; and the ACS offers the Universal Cues ACS Midwest Championships each January at the Riverside Resort & Casino in Iowa. The ACS produces a national amateur Pure X All American Tour each Fall thru Spring and offers certification for both instructors and referees dedicated to the sport.
