The Golden Thread in action...

Trainee Teachers:

In 2024 we had 22 SCITT Trainees graduates with QTS and PGCE – 6 Secondary and 16 Primary

In 2024 we closed our Outstanding SCITT and became LDE Teacher Training as a founding partner with Ambition ITT.

In 2024 we welcomed 48 new trainees to the LDE/Ambition Teacher Training Programme

Early Career Teachers:

So far in 2024 we have 440 ECTs in Year 1 of the ECT Programme

In 2024 we had 540 ECTs in Year 2 of the ECT Programme with two terms to go!

Teacher and Leaders as Mentors:

In 2024 we had 786 Mentors supporting ECTs across the both years of Induction.

Appropriate Body Services for ECTs:

In 2024 we partnered with 260 schools and welcomed 1140 ECTs to our Appropriate Body Services

NPQs:

In 2024 we had 530 teachers from across London and Essex on Leadership NPQs

In 2024 we had 437 teachers from across London and Essex on Specialist NPQs.

In 2024 we held 20 ECT and Mentor Conferences, over 100 ECT Clinics, and 2 Induction Tutor Conferences

In 2024 we held 39 NPQ Conferences and 150 NPQ Clinics.

News in Brief:

ECF: Year 1 ECTs who started in September 2004 will have ECT Conference 2 on Adaptive Teaching at Excel in January. Almost all ECTs are now successfully booked on. Really looking forward to welcoming the ECTs back after their first term in class!

NPQs: We think we have secured more DfE funding for further NPQs to start in April 2025. We cannot guarantee that we can run all programmes, but if anyone would like to express an interest in joining a programme in April – please click here.

We held the second conference of the NPQ Early Years Leadership this week – led by Rohan and Mandy from Rebecca Cheetham Nursery School. It was great to welcome this wonderful group of teachers and child minders back to LDE.

We also held the second conference of the Ambition NPQH at Hartley Primary School in Newham – it was a pleasure to see so many of our current and future leaders exploring Theories of Action and scoping for ‘Premortems’ to consolidate their study on implementation. This Thursday we have our first cohort of the Best Practice NPQH Leadership Apprenticeship programme. We are looking forward to welcoming these leaders to LDE.

Trainee Recruitment

We have now opened recruitment for our September 2025 cohort – any interested teachers can apply here: APPLY We really need more Primary and Secondary applicants of across all schools – if you know anyone across your networks interested in training – please get in touch

Engagement with Steplab

Induction Tutors can download a variety of data about their school and track all participants on the programme.

It is imperative that all coaching sessions are logged and action steps are chosen from Steplab. This ensures your school meets its statutory duty to expose ECTs to the full Early Career Framework.

Coaching for Mentors

We are able to offer any Mentors a 1:1 session to support with instructional coaching

As you all know - January and April starting ECTs always have their own pathway of events held at LDE at Tollgate. They do not attend events with the September starters.

We hope to have secured more funding to run additional scholarship funded NPQs in April 2025. We will confirm in January, when we can start accepting applications again.
