Dear Jacket Community,

Let’s start off with some good news next week is Spring Break! This holiday marks the halfway point of our spring semester When we return, the countdown will begin toward the end of the school year I am looking forward to spending time with my family, reading, and staying home Please, take the time to recharge for the final stretch of the semester I hope all of you enjoy a safe and relaxing Spring Break, and I look forward to seeing everyone when we return on Monday, March 20th

Let’s continue to create opportunities to guide students to fulfill their potential and reach their aspirations We must continue to work together to fulfill our promise to them I encourage all of us to move with actions steeped in equity, love, and progress.

There is a lot to celebrate in Elysian Fields ISD. I want to thank the hardworking teachers, staff members, and administrators that work so hard to ensure our schools run smoothly.

On February 6, 2023, Tory Gant with Youth Equipped to Succeed, an organization that serves the community by providing programs for youth, parents, and faculty, spoke to students.

Kids Heart Challenge

The total raised was $2,445 00!

Our top male donor was 4th-grader Zane Bailey, with $95 00, and our top female donor was 1st-grader Isabella Allen, with $60 00 For every $5 00 the kids donated, their name went into a drawing in hopes of being PE Teacher for the day The winner of that drawing was 2nd-grader Kinsler Sutton

FFA students attended the Area 6 FFA Convention on Tuesday, February 28, and on Wednesday, March 1, FFA members competed in the Houston Livestock Show Poultry CDE Contest. Congratulations to our EF Girls Powerlifting team who went to regionals.

CONGRATULATIONS to our One Act Play team! The students delivered an impressive performance in their district competition. Their performance received several individual acting awards and they have advanced to bi-district.

The UIL science and math team competed in the East Texas Showdown at Sabine on Saturday. We came home with individual medalist as well as second place team in Science and third place in the entire competition for math and science!! Way to go Jackets!

Bookworm Vending Machine Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Elysian Fields Elementary School

Elysian Fields Elementary School had a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new Bookworm Vending Machine on March 3 The Bookworm Vending Machine will provide students with endless opportunities to learn and become engaged in reading. The vending machine has a large selection of books students can select from. Teachers will award students with tokens that can be used to purchase a book.

Teacher Job Fair!

Teachers are a big part of ensuring our students have high-quality schools and learning experiences. And we are looking for the best because our students deserve nothing less! If you know of incredible teachers, soon-to-be college graduates, and individuals with a bachelor’s degree looking to switch careers, invite them to our Spring 2023 Teacher Job Fair on April 13 in the High School Gym
