WELCOME/CROESO Theatr Brycheiniog continues to bring the most exciting, thought-provoking and entertaining arts to the region and the spring programme is always a perfect mixture of what we think people most like about what we do. The local societies – Brecknock Young Farmers, Westenders – jostle alongside cutting edge companies like Crashmat Collective and Theatr Arad Goch. There’s the participation of young people in performances by South Powys Youth Music and Mid Wales Chamber Orchestra rubbing shoulders with the finest professional artistes in the UK right now – Tasmin Little, Rhydian, Ola Onabule. Throw in some old favourites like Rorke’s Drift Concert, Image Musical Theatre and Kenton Cool and you’ve got a brilliant mix to suit all tastes.

And, amid all this economic doom and gloom, we’ve booked a couple of top-drawer comedians too – Lucy Porter and Lee Hurst will cheer everyone up for sure. We look forward to welcoming you to Theatr Brycheiniog and Wyeside in 2013.

THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS This vibrant musical production has all of Kenneth Grahame’s tales of the river bank, the open road, the Wild Wood – not to mention the exuberant Mr Toad and Mole, Ratty and Badger. Gareth Cousins’ paintings of the Brecon Beacons depict unique and dramatic interpretations of the landscape using striking colours and bold delineation, complementing Sue’s work perfectly.

An exhibition of work by female artists from the Brecon area. This year, artists have been invited to interpret the theme of Hiraeth and the show, curated by Hilda Benham and Karin Mear, reflects a rich diversity of ideas, technique and media. www.breconwomensfestival.co.uk COMING SOON

GWERNYFED HIGH SCHOOL

ALISTER CLIFFORD THE ORANGE PATH

Gwernyfed High School has a wide catchment area from Erwood to Llangorse. The artwork is a selection of the 2012 GCSE and A Level examinations. Students have been very successful as well as experiencing amazing workshops with artists, and visits to London and European galleries.

Having grown up in the rural idyll of Monmouthshire in the 1960s and 1970s, Alister's heart and soul have never left the area despite his present ‘exile’ in Cardiff. His paintings reflect his love of the landscape, especially the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, and charmingly depict human interaction with the environment.

ACCESS TO THE ANDREW LAMONT GALLERY MAY BE RESTRICTED DUE TO OTHER EVENTS TAKING PLACE.
