RICHARD ALSTON DANCE COMPANY ‘The finest choreographer the British modern dance scene has ever known’ NEW YORK TIMES

Richard Alston’s Overdrive takes up the pulsating rhythm of Terry Riley’s music and runs with it to the wire. The music makes a close-meshed grid on which to set a dance moving - shifting, changing direction, curving over and under but never pausing for breath. Martin Lawrance’s To Dance And Skylark is a joyous celebration of Bach’s vigorous and colourful Brandenburg concertos. Lawrance’s high-spirited steps pick up on all the elation of this wonderful music. Richard Alston’s intimate and exquisitely beautiful Light Flooding Into Darkened Rooms is accompanied by sublime lute pieces from the 17th century master Denis Gaultier and contemporary work for mandolin.

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

One of the greatest modern classics, To Kill A Mockingbird is the powerful story of a fight for racial justice in a community divided and ruled by prejudice and discrimination.

Eight year old Scout Finch is growing up in a close knit neighbourhood with her older brother Jem. When their father Atticus Finch, a well respected lawyer, mounts a vigorous case for the defence of Tom Robinson, a poor black man accused of the rape of a young white girl, an idyllic world of childhood is changed forever. A compelling, moving story, told with warmth and humour, To Kill A Mockingbird is theatre that will leave a deep and lasting impression on audiences of all ages. SATURDAY 13 MARCH 8.00PM

THE BOHEMIANS From the opening of We Will Rock You right through to the end of the final track, We Are The Champions, The Bohemians re-enact the glory days of Queen.
