elcome to Bass Performance Hall. On behalf of the Performing Arts Fort Worth staff and Board of Directors, I thank you for joining us.

Entertainer, Icon, Superstar, Legend. These are just a few of the words that best describe the artist that was Michael Jackson. From his early days as the youngest member of The Jackson 5, to the launch of his 1992 Dangerous World Tour, MJ goes beyond singular moves and a signature sound. This four-time Tony Award®-winning show offers us a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Michael Jackson into legendary status, taking us behind the music with a front row seat to his unique and unparalleled artistry.

I distinctly remember the first time I saw Michael Jackson perform his hit song “Billie Jean” during a Motown special on TV. While I had loved The Jackson 5’s music growing up, it was in this moment that I fully realized Michael’s incomparable level of talent and showmanship. When you’re creating a musical based on a real person, it can be a great challenge to find that same level of artistry in a way that doesn’t just feel like a tribute, but that puts the audience into that person’s world. I can happily say that when I saw MJ for the first time, it was clear that Director and Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, with the help of two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, were able to capture some of that thrilling magic.

Next up, the 2024-2025 Broadway at the Bass Season presented by PNC Bank concludes this summer with a trio of hits. Transport to a world of splendor and romance with Moulin Rouge! The Musical, June 10-15. Then, see the revival fifty years in the making when The Wiz makes its Bass Hall debut, July 15-20. Closing the season, Cowtown meets Corntown when Shucked, the new musical comedy sure to a-maize with its humor and heart, pops into Fort Worth, July 29 – August 3.

In case you missed it, Season Tickets are now on sale for the 2025-2026 Broadway Season! If you’ve ever thought about becoming a part of the Broadway at the Bass family, this season is a great time to join. With 9 shows included, plus 5 add-ons, this lineup has something for everyone! Visit www.basshall.com to learn more about the benefits of being a Season Ticket Holder and discover all the sensational shows we have coming up.

As always, thank you to all of our sponsors and donors for their generous contributions and continued support. Now, it’s time to be startin’ somethin’, as we welcome MJ!

ANGELS IN THE WINGS

Angels in the Wings support the Children’s Education Program of Performing Arts Fort Worth at the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall with gifts of $1,000 and above.

The Children’s Education Program is an integral part of Bass Performance Hall but maintains its own support independent of Performing Arts Fort Worth. Each year, 65,000 students from Fort Worth ISD and North Texas experience high-quality curriculum-related performing arts programs at Bass Performance Hall that are free of charge to all participants because of the generosity of our Angels in the Wings.
