I keep my artificial tree in an old steamer trunk, and use the trunk as a stand for the tree when it is set up. I have extra pieces to my luggage set that I rarely use, so I store favorite books I like to reread in them. This keeps my shelves uncluttered and when I ever do need the extra pieces, I have travel books at hand, ready for the trip.
