The college campus comes alive when fests are around the corner As the editor of our college's newsletter, it is my honour to chronicle the highlights of these unforgettable moments

The recent Escaldes event witnessed a dazzling display of talent and tenacity as students vied for the coveted Rolling Trophy Whether orchestrating the event or showcasing their skills, each participant exemplified the ethos of excellence and sportsmanship, inspiring us all to reach greater heights

We bid a bittersweet farewell to the illustrious Batch of 2018, who, having completed their arduous journey through the corridors of learning, stepping forth as fully-fledged doctors, as they carry with them the torch of our institution names and now stand as a beacon of hope in healthcare As they depart, we fondly recall the memories we built with them, whether it was the art of organizing fests or giving markings or teaching the lessons of medical sciences

Losing their training wheels and taking their first step into the medical field as "Doctors", Batch 2019, once first year students, now stand with pride as interns!

With hands placed solemnly on the Hippocratic Oath, they pledged their unwavering commitment to the pursuit of excellence in healing and caring for other Now, all eyes are on Syncytium, happening from 1st to 5th May, the buzz of excitement permeates every corner From organizing meetings in the student council room, NPB or canteen to tireless rehearsals in the auditorium, students pour their hearts and souls into crafting an event that promises to transcend the ordinary and etche itself into pages of our college’s history

Looking back on all these moments, I can't help but feel proud of our college community Together, we're making memories and creating a legacy that we will cherish for years to come

FATHER

No concern for basic needs; He dons a tattered vest, Fights the world till he bleeds, Yet strives to do his best.

For work is his god, And effort the only prayer His ways maybe flawed, But all he gives is care.

He's got many scars, And bruises of time But that got him cars, Yet he values a dime His dreams and ambitions And trauma of the past, Tested all his conditions And made a man at last.

And in the darkest hours, Never does he stir; For all his powers, Come from her.

It is the process of taking control of your finances and making wise and thoughtful financial decisions

This involves budgeting, saving, and setting financial goals

For most of your life, you have heard from either your parents or society that you are too young to do this or you should do it when you grow up and are financially independent

Our education system teaches us a wide range of topics from history to science, no doubt, these subjects are very important, but even after college most of us will not know how to file our taxes or how to invest our money wisely

Money management should be taught at some point in our education.

As crude as it may sound, the world revolves around money, and how we manage our money is going to decide our quality of life. As a college student who receives pocket money from home, it's a constant struggle not to fall prey to the 'End of the Month Syndrome'

Spending the money throughout the month without giving it much thought and being left with barely enough or nothing by the end of the month, at this point we promise ourselves that it won't happen again next month

Saving some money and investing some of it from as early as college will help us build a good foundation for our future financial stability

In conclusion, mastering the art of Financial adulting is achieving personal independence and securing a stable future By embracing responsible practices such as effective budgeting, regular saving, and strategic investing, individuals can lay a strong foundation for their financial well-being

SUMMER AFTERNOON

Contrary to popular belief, ghosts come out on warm summer days because they would love to, just once more, feel the warmth in their extremities

And giggly children on a sugar high, chasing their friends through sprinklers in a park is exactly who they want to get back to

There is no force holding them to the cold dark nights that make people shiver, in that vestigial way The cold makes your senses sharper, so does death

They don't want more of that, they want the dull summer afternoons, that make your vision blurry, the sweat on your skin that makes you forget that you are a distinct being, makes your molecules feel one with the humid air.

That feeling that makes the living realize that they are not special? Not important? Just the intermediates of an age old explosion? The feeling the living hate, try to get away from in their air conditioned rooms and cars?

That's the feeling ghosts chase, the ones separated from here by a veil, they want to reach out and feel like they belong here, in skin, sweating, rotting, dying Not dead, but getting there They want more time Summer afternoons are the best time for that

And if people see them? They were just illusions of minds too tired, a mirage, not there, at the edge of your alley, just a trick of the light

MY SYMPOSIUM EXPERIENCE

The first time I watched a symposium during MediAce 2019, I was completely floored Nobody would think that a 20 minute research presentation could actually be so much fun to watch. I loved the colourful way the research was presented. Everything had a dramatic flair to it, perfect for the current human attention span When symposium auditions were announced, I knew I had to give it a shot I was elated when I got to know that I'll be a part of the team Thus began my symposium journey. It all started with long debates and research into an appropriate topic Gradually, we moved onto research and then the haphazard compilation into a presentation It all looked so picture-perfect when I watched it on stage I never really thought about the painstaking detail it takes, right down to the music We worked with the clock racing against us and finally, on the day of the symposium, managed the impossible feat of presenting our research.

The next year, our seniors, owing to the perils of internship, left the team for us to lead The symposium team head, Shlok Raykwad, worked with us relentlessly. Working against the clock was now turning into a pattern no matter how early we started Our research topic was on Geriatric Falls, something that isn't considered to be as serious as it actually is But a symposium doesn't just highlight a problem, you need a solution as well It pushes you to come up with innovative solutions to address the problem The collective effort bore fruit Winning the gold medal felt surreal for a few months after that Being a part of the symposium team was a bitter-sweet experience for me. The work never seemed to end, the constant fine tuning to perfection But in the end, it all felt worth it

ADULTING: THE ART OF FINISHING YOUR CHORES!

Ever since we were kids we have desperately been waiting for the moment we become an “adult”.But like most things in life when it finally rolls around it’s not as fun as you thought.

Nobody tells you that the biggest chunk of being grown up is not the freedom and excitement of it but the realisation that there is always going to be an endless array of chores waiting to be done Every Single Day This realisation makes most of us die inside and try to search for a time machine but sadly Doraemon lives in Japan and is not real No worries, let me be the Monica to your Rachel “Welcome to the real world It sucks You’re gonna love it ”

Managing chores is a daunting task but doable Laundry can be tackled by simply doing a little every day and avoiding pile up Dishes? Do them as soon as you ’ re done with food Studying? Breakdown a big task into little tasks and check them off one by one Cleaning? Avoid big messes to keep future you sane and do a thorough cleaning once a week

Basically a mantra of do what you can while you can The biggest surprise about adulting is that you can do it and as my friend would say, “Option nahi hai ” Of course there are days when you feel like everything is too much. The weight of thousands of tiny little tasks is crushing you to bits. Don’t forget, you ’ re an MBBS student, you made it through Guyton, Park, Harrissons and more You’ve got this
