Dear guests,
On behalf of the Omaha Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO and United Way of the Midlands (UWM), we are excited to welcome you to our annual Blue Collar Boxing event!
Partners since 1941, the relationship between the AFL-CIO and United Way is built upon a mutual desire to create a better, stronger and more resilient community. And that shared commitment to our metro area led to the creation of this exciting event in 2019. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from Blue Collar Boxing directly benefit the work of United Way of the Midlands and the Nebraska Center for Workforce Development and Education.
UWM has a long-standing tradition of serving the OmahaCouncil Bluffs metro thanks to its many generous donors, community partners and volunteers. With this amazing support, more than 93 cents of every donated dollar is invested back into our community – through local programs and direct services like 211 and JAG Nebraska. These programs are making an impact and creating a thriving network of health and human services to address the ever-changing needs people are facing in our community.
The Nebraska Center for Workforce Development and Education is focused on increasing the qualified workforce in Nebraska by creating opportunities for individuals to gain exposure to careers in the trades. Through their many unique programs, the Center is addressing the skill-gap in Nebraska’s workforce and supporting the infrastructure of the State of Nebraska.
Together, our two organizations are fighting for the future of our community. Thank you for joining that fight by supporting tonight’s event. Whether you’re a spectator, sponsor or fighter – your involvement is truly making a difference for thousands in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro.
Sincerely,
Mike McDonnell President
Omaha Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO
Shawna Forsberg President and CEO United Way of the
Midlands
Enter for a chance to split the pot and strengthen your community!
What is Split the Pot?
Split the Pot is a 50/50 raffle where the winner leaves with a cash prize. Participants purchase tickets, and the winner walks away with half the total money raised while the rest goes straight back to our community. The more tickets sold, the bigger the pot grows!
Purchase your tickets from any volunteer in a neon green T-shirt walking through your section, at the Split the Pot table next to the Merchandise table on the concourse or by scanning the QR code above.
Need not be present to win. Winner will be drawn before the featured fight and will be contacted if they won. Sponsored by:
