Italian textile machinery manufacturers play a fundamental role in promoting new and innovative green technology trends. The competitive playing field for the textile industry focuses on environmental, financial and social sustainability.Under pressure from increasingly stringent industry regulations and standards, and urged on by environmental movements and the precautionary policies on chemical safety of several important brands, the textile sector is forced to measure up to new issues.

In 2001,ACIMIT decided to entrust to a group of technical professors the task to draw up istitutional schoolbooks (named “Quaderni”) illustrating the technologies of the main sectors of the textile machinery industry. In recent years, ACIMIT has thus completed a total of 6 reference textbooks for schools on the main technologies in the areas of spinning, weaving,knitting,finishing,man-made fibres, and nonwoven fabrics. The success of these publications has also convinced ACIMIT of the opportunity to provide a translation in English, Chinese,Arabic and Mongolian,so as to be able to distribute them abroad in digital format at schools and universities (according to a specific agreement) with a vocation for the textile industry. Click for a downloadable sample: The “Sustainable Technologies” Project: The ACIMIT Green Label

Italian textile machinery manufacturers,in a variety of textile industry sectors (from spinning to knitting, from weaving to finishing) have shown their capacity to provide innovative technology solutions that move towards eliminating hazardous substances from production processes,in favour of greater savings in water and energy costs, promoting the recycling of materials at the end of their lifespan. Within this context,ACIMIT,the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, has realized the “Sustainable Technologies” project. At the center of the “Sustainable Technologies” project is the ACIMIT green label, the energy/ environmental labelling tool for textile machinery developed by the Association and certified by an accredited international certification body,RINA. WHAT MACHINES CAN OBTAIN DIGITAL READY CERTIFICATION Ready certification can be requested for the following type of machines: Efficient overview of data with an easy-to-use dashboard Simplified business analyses

The international certification body RINA,a long-standing ACIMIT partner,is authorized to issue the certification to associated member companies.A company intending to obtain Digital Ready certification for its machinery is required to abide by a framework that is divided into five phases: VALIDITY AND DURATION OF THE CERTIFICATION

The Digital Ready itinerary implemented for a manufacturer’s specific machine will lead to the obtainment of certification valid for all machinery of the same production type, for which there will be no need to replicate the procedure.Digital Ready certification has a duration of five years from its issuing.

Innovation is born out of change and a quest for new avenues:ACIMIT has embarked on the road to digital transformation, which has led to DIGITAL READY certification, specifically dedicated to Italy’s textile machinery manufacturers, facilitating and building customer loyalty in managing machine data and providing Made in Italy a new competitive advantage in global markets.

A COMMON LANGUAGE ACIMIT’s data model aims to standardize management and production data of Italian textile machinery, based on a common language that allows for easier integration of machinery within the manufacturing customer’s production systems. What are the benefits for ACIMIT’s associated members who choose to certify their machinery?

HOW TO GET THE CERTIFICATION

of the ACIMIT

The certification is designed to simplify the production process, making use of a standard language and unique data reading system that allows different types of machinery to dialogue with production systems. The goal of the certification is to build customer loyalty while establishing a virtuous bond between textile machinery manufacturers and their customers, creating an innovative synergy for the textile sector.
