‘Tudor Food and Drink’ will be the subject matter for an informal dropin between 2pm and 5pm on Sat 5th May. On hand at the Barton Street museum will be the Merchant’s housewife, who will tell visitors all about food and drink in the Tudor period - from exploration and imported food to baking bread and laying the fire. These were times when children as young as three drank beer, the rich were unhealthier than the poor and rotten teeth could make you more attractive!
The event will be an ideal family attraction, especially for those studying the Tudors at school. Tickets are available on the door priced at £3 for adults, £2.50 for seniors and students and £2 for children. Family tickets cost £8.
