I understand that despite a hot and dry summer, the course is in good shape for our golf event of the year, the Teton Pines Round Up Member/Guest. Regrettably, I had to delay my trip out to Jackson this year and am only just able to enjoy all the beauty that both Jackson and the Pines have to offer. However, I want to assure you that all is on track, and I would like to thank Dr. Sigsbee Duck, our Club Vice President, and the other Executive Committee Members for their assistance in the governance of the Club. Fortunately for Zoom, I have been able to stay quite involved with the many significant matters in process at this time.
The Construction Task Group and Management have been actively working with our architectural firm, Prospect Studio, and our construction manager, Shaw Construction, in progressing the designs for the Wellness Center, to obtain the necessary approvals to start construction in this fall. Any of you that have done construction in the area understand the challenges involved, but things are advancing. Refinements to the plans have been made to ensure that:
• the 2200 sq. ft. Fitness Center will be designed to maximize effective ventilation while enjoying vaulted ceilings and 180-degree views,
• the 1000 sq. ft. Studio can accommodate a wide range of classes including yoga, fitness and barre classes for our ideal class size of 12-15 participants,
• the exterior finishings are consistent with the Mountain / Western motif that you would expect within the area,
• the surrounding grounds can accommodate member traffic including pedestrian safety, sufficient bike parking and transit traffic back and forth to the main clubhouse,
• the building enjoys a smooth transition to the recreation pool, lap pool, hot tubs and the alfresco dining, and
• sufficient space to comfortably accommodate temporary dining while this building serves as our provisional clubhouse during the renovation of the main clubhouse by:
• retrofitting the changing rooms to serve as an 84-seat dining room on the ground floor with views of the pool and the Tetons
• installing a full kitchen line capable of providing a dining menu consistent with our current capabilities, and
• incorporating a bar/lounge experience expected from a premier club.
I want to add that we are planning for a temporary golf Pro Shop, simulator and cart storage in preparation for phase II, the renovation of the main Clubhouse.
I am also happy to report that with the recent Annual Partners’ meeting, we were also able to pass another important threshold by obtaining the necessary approval from the Partner’s to seek the required funding to ensure that the Club can meet any financial timing differences in cash flows during the second phase of the project – renovation of the main Clubhouse. This funding will enable the Club to see the entire project constructed in a timelier fashion.
I want to thank all of you for your strong support of Teton Pines during this very important evolution of the Club. This is a critical time for the Club to solidify its continued success for many, many years to come. It would not be possible without the “word of mouth” support that you all share with family, friends and associates that translates into membership referrals and a steady flow of individuals interested in making Teton Pines an active part of their lives. Without this vibrant and unique Club Culture, that we all value so greatly, none of our progress would be possible. As always, our Assistant General Manager/Membership Director, Amy Bickley is a great resource and is happy to assist in any way or answer any questions you or your prospective members may have.
In closing, I would like to remind you that we will be sending out our Annual Member Survey in September and I sincerely request your participation as this plays an integral part of our annual planning and strategic direction for the future.
Always the Best.
Todd Bretzlaff | TPCC General Manager
It is amazing to realize that we are already halfway through summer, and both the golf course and pool are bustling with all the beautiful weather.
With over seven months behind us in 2024, I want to thank you for all the strong support that you continue to provide to Teton Pines. It is this support that is making the Wellness Center and the Clubhouse Upgrade and Expansion possible. For the annual 3rd of July party alone we had approximately 440 attendees and we received overwhelmingly positive feedback. It is positive re-enforcement like this that is so encouraging to the team to steadily build on the experience and strengthen the sense of community.
We continue to see stronger patronage for our weekly couples’ golf, our revised Summer Camp, the summer pool activities and newly designed swim program, the tiered Tennis Clinics and many more. And events such as our second annual outdoor cocktail party on the lawn are certain to become tradition. Even our annual showcase event, the Men’s Member-Guest Round Up Golf Tournament enjoyed a waiting list to participate.
In the coming months, we look forward to the return of our monthly Trivia Nights, Monday Night Football and introducing a Murder Mystery Dinner and a Family Bingo Night. Don’t forget our valued traditions of the season including the Labor Day Luau at the pool, the Kings and Queens (Superintendent’s Revenge) golf tournament, and our second annual Member/Employee Mixer. The activities and events combined with an inclusive environment that welcomes engagement, has resulted in very strong membership matriculation allowing the Club to already achieve our targets for 2024.
Membership referrals continue to be strong, although this does not take away from the importance of members actively referring family, friends, family or associates that you believe would be a strong fit into the Teton Pines family. It is this synergy of “like-minded” people that makes the Club so inviting.
As the Club is in peak season and we are keen to maintain an environment that is enjoyable to all, I want to take the opportunity to remind members of various expectations while enjoying the Club. Proper golf specific attire on the course and practice areas including tucked-in shirts for gentlemen and appropriate length golf skirts for the ladies, are required. Hats should be worn facing forward throughout the property and removed by gentlemen and boys within the clubhouse. Ladies, full length shirts (no sports bras or cropped attire) are required throughout the Club and gentlemen, please no tank tops, except at the pool. We ask that all members are respectful of the Club’s dress code and please remember to inform your guests as well. Restrictions on mobile phones and audio devices without earphones within the clubhouse and dining areas are also critical toward an enjoyable experience. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask our team or refer to the Club rules and etiquette found on the Club website and attached to the bottom of the Weekly Club Update emails.
As a preliminary step toward the Club’s Master Plan, we completed the golf course bathrooms and food kiosk. Although it took longer than expected, the result is a dramatic improvement, and we hope that you are enjoying the complimentary snacks and beverages provided; we welcome your feedback on the selection provided as we fine-tune this offering. The Club is dedicated to maintaining our golf course’s 20+ year Audubon certification and the commitment that the certification represents towards protecting our natural resources and the wildlife, which are so iconic in Jackson Hole.
Moving forward, we are focused on managing many planned changes and improvements while preserving a strong community focused culture, ensuring Teton Pines stands out as a truly “world-class” private club.
See you at the Club!
Amy Bickley | Director of Membership & Assitant General Manager
Summer is in full swing at the Club, and it has been such a pleasure to welcome many of you back to Teton Pines to enjoy these amazing days with your friends and family in Jackson Hole.
We are pleased to report that as of July 15 the Club has a waitlist of prospective member candidates that will likely bring us well into the New Year. Thank you for introducing your friends to the Club! Whether through a dinner, round of golf, a day at the pool or match out on the racquet courts you’ve definitely been showing them how much fun there is to be had at Teton Pines!
On that note, remember, I’m here to help guide prospective members through the application process and ensure they understand what it means to be a member at Teton Pines. Thus, if you have friends or family that are interested in learning more, please send them my way!
Remember, you can view all membership candidates on the candidates tab of the website. Thus, if you know that a friend has applied, you do not need to wait until they are announced to provide your feedback. You’ve been doing a great job with this, as several applicants receiving 5+ notes of membership support. Your endorsements, comments, and even criticisms are incredibly helpful to the Membership Committee when making a recommendation for approval to the Executive Committee.
Once membership becomes available and we welcome the new members, their photo and bio are moved over to the New Members tab of the website. Be sure to provide a warm welcome!
Speaking of welcomes, during the mandatory new member orientation meeting, I provide a thorough tutorial of the Club website, reviewing items such as making reservations, cancellation policies, and finding departmental information. Additionally, we review relevant Rules & Regulations and discuss Club culture and history. If you are a newer member, or even a long-term member that just wants a little refresher, don’t hesitate to contact me and I’d be thrilled to go over the website/app or any other questions you may have.
I look forward to seeing you at the Club!

Summer ‘24 is off like a rocket here at TetonPines, as everything kicked off with a bang for our annual July 3rd BBQ’s staggering 440 attendees! Thank you all for joining us that day, as it was a great “welcome back” for many, and the unofficial kick off to summer fun at the club.
Here’s what’s cooking for the rest of summer and fall! Lobster nights will continue through September 14th on Saturday nights, so please don’t forget to reserve your lobsters by calling the dining room direct or leaving us a note when you make your reservation. We will also have our much anticipated Member Cocktail Party with Mark Lyon and his crew down at Golf Course Maintenence on Tuesday, August 20th-this is always a fun one so plan ahead.
Labor day weekend will be full of excitement and our last chance to splash in the pool. Please join us for our end of season Luau Party at the pool on Sunday, September 1st! Last year was great and I think we have created a wonderful end of season bash for us Big kids and Little kids alike.
For those football junkies, we’ll be joining Ace for MNF starting Monday, October 14th. We have decided to push back this start so that we can continue to golf and enjoy the nice weather in September. However, we will host our first Trivia Night with Ace on Tuesday, September 24th!
Summer is in full swing at Teton Pines and autumn will be here before we know it. Great weather usually settles in this time of year, and playing golf at The Pines can be the best of the season. After some weeks of warm, dry summer weather, we all look forward to cooler autumn days on the course. I encourage members to “get out and play” and enjoy a few rounds of golf in this special place where we are fortunate enough to spend some of our time.
Matt Stireman, PGA | Director of Golf
Be sure to check our Teton Pines website, and follow our weekly “From the Fairways” newsletter, which comes out each Tuesday morning, for the most up-to-date information about upcoming events, play and golf instruction. Our team is also always available to answer any questions and provide information regarding scheduling tee times and instruction from our talented team of Pros. And don’t forget to come by the Pro Shop to see the team and browse our wide selection of the latest styles from the top brands in the industry.
Once again, I am very proud of our Golf Staff at Teton Pines, and I want to give a shout out and “thank-you” to each of them for executing another great season of golf. Members, please take a moment to notice the excellent service that these guys and gals show each day, and as always, let me know if there is anything else our team can be doing to better meet your golf needs and make your experience the best possible.
I want to end with my favorite saying, which in my opinion, will help with playing the game of golf anywhere in the world, and help solve the continuing problems of slow play:
“Your position on the golf course in directly behind the group in front of you, not directly in front of the group behind you.”
Thank you for being great Members and Hit ‘em Straight!

Another summer is flying by here at the Teton Pines Racquet Sports Center. And while we hopefully have two more months of mostly outdoor play, starting September 1, our schedule does shift to fall with school going back into session and many member’s schedules changing with that.
We have seen so many members enjoying our Intro to Pickleball clinics this summer that we just had to add continuations of these. So, take those new skills to the next level during these September and October 4-week sessions.
Back by popular demand, we cannot wait for our fifth tennis camp experience right here at home. Two options for a weekend camp and a weekday camp are here to give members the option for what suits them best. We cannot emphasize how unique it is to offer this opportunity.
And, fall can’t finish up without a Halloween extravaganza. A Pines favorite is back the last week of October so get going on those costumes! We will be awarding prizes for the best dressed participants.
As always, we are looking forward to continued lessons, drills and playdays in a fun, constructive environment for all. Please also familiarize yourself with the Racquet Sports Calendar as we often are adding more events and offerings based on demand.
See you on the courts!

Happy summer from the Wellness Team!
Activities throughout the Club are in full swing, as the pool continues to host non-stop family fun, Mini Members create memories on and off property at Camp Teton Pines, and members of all ages enjoy our wide variety of complimentary wellness offerings. As we enter the second half of summer, the next few months will include a strong focus on even more family activities throughout the Club, including events like poolside Bingo & Burgers, an exciting family scavenger hunt, a lawn bowling tournament on the Driving Range and so much more. We hope that we continue to see the countless smiling faces that make summer at Teton Pines so special.
The summer fun will expand beyond the Clubhouse walls, with upcoming off-property events throughout the community. Members can look forward to a festive cocktail hour at Rockin’ H Ranch on Thursday, August 8th, which will be hosted in partnership with the Jackson Hole Land Trust. It wouldn’t be summer without days spent on the water, so we’ll have multiple opportunities to do so; join the team from Rendezvous River Sports on Thursday, August 1st for a guided paddleboard trip from South Park Boat Ramp to Astoria, where gear, snacks and instruction are provided. Later in the month, we’ll head out to GTNP for a 10 mile scenic float on the Snake River on Sunday, August 25th. This classic Jackson float is one of the best ways to experience the park by water, offering countless opportunities for viewing wildlife, wildflowers and the abundant beauty of Jackson. And if you’d like to put on your cowboy boots, you can join the Wellness Team in saddling up at Spring Creek Ranch for a horseback ride on Friday, September 13th, or for a Western Swing Dance class at the Cowboy on Thursday, September 19th.
It’s hard to believe that come Labor Day, our Recreation Pool operations will come to a close for the 2024 season (weather dependent). And what better way to say “goodbye” to the summer fun than a poolside bash with some your favorite people? Join us on Sunday, September 1st for our annual Labor Day Luau pool party, featuring great friends, exciting games and a BBQ buffet; reservations are now open! We encourage all members to take full advantage of our Aquatics offerings before then, including our increasingly popular Water Aerobics class, offered each Monday and Wednesday. Our wide variety of group fitness classes provide a great platform to connect with fellow members, while engaging yourself in fun and healthy activities.
We look forward to continued summer fun and can’t wait to share all of our fall activities in the coming months!
